  1. I've got a strength shop size med 10mm power belt still not even broke in really. Just sitting. Don't do power movements anymore. I'll ship it anywhere in the USA for fifty bucks. Sorry if this is against the rules guys. Just don't want this thing to go to waste. Needs to be on a nice strong Vegan. (:
  2. I hit the iron religiously. If it is gym day I will move heaven and earth to get a workout. I will awake at 4 am to lift, or do pushups on a break. I don't care. I get a lot of flack about this, as well as my vigilant label reading and ridiculous dietary requirements. But these are my choices. And if you do not respect my choices I must ask that you leave me be. I'm at the point now where I am so cut and jacked people don't question me. Stay strong. Fight on. If this is your passion never give it up.
  3. Eating less is an amazing stimulant free fat burner. (;
  4. We are being manipulated and lied to. Our governments meat industry (dairy, eggs, flesh) pay big money for the smear campaign and propegqnda. No one will ever tell you a Vegan diet is identical to and can be even better than an omnivore diet amongst healthy individuals (think food quality and even when you go grass. Fed your meat can be tainted) . If you are eating dietary fat you will produce your own cholesterol through your bile salts as well as vitamin A, K, and D. Sulphured aminos, vitamins and minerals, dha/epa can all be find at equivalency in Vegan forms. It's a giant lie and it's all bullshit. What a sad delusion.
  5. Persistent lectins like in peanut butter might be an issue. But weakly bound lectins, such as in peas and lentils are very loosely bound. There's not really any scientific basis things with phytates and lectins are 'bad'., the whole chelating minerals things is just horse shit, they're already bound to minerals when you eat them. Legumes are very non reactive unlike milk, eggs and pb. The protein myth is tiresome. I even had someone call me out on sulphur aminos like methionine. you realize it's in legumes, rice etc. Right?
  6. Thanks! I'm very happy! I've also greatly diversified how I'm training. Still lifting 3x week for around 40 minutes, no power movements anymore with varying rep ranges. One day of farmers walks 100 feet x 5-8, kickboxing/boxing once a week for 45 minutes, one day of either hiking or jogging (sometimes both in a week) , and one day and of yoga/mobility drills. Then I work do wood spliting/hauling a couple times a week for 3-6hrs. http://i.imgur.com/DzIkRQA.jpg
  7. It took me a long time to get the ok from my doctor to start stripping animal products back out of diet (well a few months ago, but I've been busy) . I respect my Holistic doc tremendously and trust his judgment. I've also discovered I am not allergic to lactose or casein, but the albumin and globulin in milk based proteins, so cheese, Whey, yogurt etc all kill me. It only took 24hrs from switching back to pea/rice protein for my horrible backne to abate. Still avoid soy, wheat, corn and all the other shit they put in "food". I still eat heavy whipping cream and sour cream (almost no milk protein) but I'm looking for a Vegan alternative to sour cream with probiotics in it i can get up here. I'm trying to get away from dairy because of how evil the industry is. I do still eat eggs daily. But always strive for local pet chicken eggs or really good ethical store bought ones like pasture Verde. Off fish/cod oil and taking all Vegan supplements though! Dha/epa, d3, vitamin k, whole food multi, and nettle. Also never stopped using cruelty free stuff. I don't think i can or will ever become vegan again but I've found a happy middle ground for me and the animals. Since the disaster I've packed on huge amounts of muscle; even after my vegetarian transition I continued to add. Along with manual labor, boxing, yoga, hiking, running, strongman work and lifting I've managed to break, 160lb at 8% body fat! (: I'm glad I'm back here. I feel content.
  8. Do any of you guys who lift weights do Yoga? I'm looking to apply yoga to my schedule once or twice a week but I don't have a lot of money or access to any yoga classes and need to self teach. I'm looking for videos or websites with simple full body routines that cover all the basics in like 30-45min. Thanks.
  9. I don't believe eating animal products causes any health issues as long as you are eating grass fed/pastured/Organic food the smear campaign is getting tired. With that said I think the primary reason for eating Vegan is moral and ecological.
  10. A word to the wise. A Vegan diet is incredible. It's sustainable, and ethical. Its good for the body and soul. But we can run into vitamin/mineral defficiencies long term just as well, if not easier than omnivores. Vegan junk food and omnivore junk food is all the same. I fucked myself over pretty good. Given part of it was due to an underlying medical condition, but I did not watch my diet close enough and paid for it. I had to give up Veganism and didn't know if I'd get back here. It's been, and will be a long fight back to 100%. http://i.imgur.com/Ql4T5nP.jpg http://i.imgur.com/zfiXUkO.jpg
  11. You eat junk; whether on a Vegan diet or omnivore and you get junk results. It's food sources like wheat, white flours, sugars, corn, and some other grains that jack your insulin. Low fat diets are pretty shit. You need fat for bile salts to make your own vitamin a, K, and d. Get good fat in like sustainable red palm oil, coconut oil, avocado, pumpkin/hemp. Flax seeds, macadmia/brazil/almonds/walnuts and focus on whole food sources like legumes, beans and lots of veggies, maybe some pea/rice protein, and your body will repay you in kind. Take it easy on grains and soy and your good to go. Oh and hit the iron hard. Plenty of rest. Keep your mind calm, and bam. Success.
  12. You guys. :3 Well I was going to take this slower and ween animal products back out but I kinda just said fuck it. I wanna be Vegan again and I feel like I have a hole in heart. I'm sitting on top of some non Vegetarian/Vegan supplements like vitamin k made with gelatin, vitamin D3 and a multi with D3 in it and some fermented cod liver oil plus some Whey protein. I'll have to use those up (2-3 months worth of stuff) I'll be switching to Now Vegan vitamin k2 from natto and lichen based D3. But this month I'm taking butter eggs and my occasional meat out of my diet and kinda just jumping back in and I'll drop that stuff as I use it up. Mom was still vegetarian but wants to give up eggs and crap so I got her some Vegan DHA and vitamin A (probably give her one 10,000 iu cap ever 2-3 days) I bought a big ass 1 gallon tub of red palm oil to replace butter, some beta alanine (read Carnosine) and some Vegan friendly creatine. Also bought some neat meat. It's Vegan, gluten and soy free. I'll be cycling between that, Tempeh and beans/legumes. One thing I am keeping as a constant is my gluten free grain free drastically soy reduced cyclic keto diet. Cyclic keto as a. Vegan? Yeah its possible. Here is my meal plan. Wake: Coffee with coconut milk/Creamer Breakfast: 30g pea/rice/hemp protein, chorella, creatine, beta alanine, 1/4 can coconut milk Lunch: 14 coconut oil, 14g red palm oil 115g spinach/broccoli, half an avocado, with garlic and onion. 28g b12 Nutritional yeast.14-28g Hemp seeds sporadically. Snack: 28g macadamia nuts, 28g other nuts, 28g shredded coconut, bit of dark chocolate occasionally. 30g pea/rice/hemp protein, chorella, creatine, beta alanine, 1/4 can coconut milk Dinner: 14g coconut oil, 14g red palm oil 1/2 pack Tempeh, 1.4oz/dry nest meat or 115g split pea stew (on lift days) 115g carrots or parsnips Garlic and onion Green tea On lift days only at night: 1lb sweet potatoes/red/gold poatoes 1+lb jasmine rice 1 half lb loaf of gluten free fruit bread Misc snacks: if I hike or whatever and am hungry. Baked Kale with Nutritional yeast. Extra protein shake.. Chewy coconut bar (just baked coconut with flaxseed and water, maybe a bit of fruit/chocolate) some nut butter on celery etc. Black tea at night with coconut milk/Creamer. Supplements. Whole food multi, vitamin d3, vitamin k, vitamin a, algae DHA, pea/rice/hemp/ protein, beta alanine, creatine, and chorella. Occasionally nettle root. I may ditch chorella for the dha since it's redundant. But the chorella has some good benefits and is cheap. Mom doesn't take chorella so I will prolly still buy her algae dha.
  13. In January I literally came within inches of dying. It was a very traumatic experience that caused doctors to check my fat soluble vitamin levels only to find out they were dangerously low. In hindsight I believe I was misled. I jumped the gun. I was scared and I think I made a mistake but I learned lot. I picked up my omnivore diet until sometime in Feb but couldn't handle it and became flexitarian. I eat meat on the weekends, eggs and butter. Veganism holds a strong multifaceted place in my heart. It saved me from a troubling time in my life. With close to 7 billion mouths to feed I don't believe an omnivore diet could ever be advocated both for animals and humans alike. It's cruel and wasteful. And with our technology just unnecessary. I have finally gotten strong enough I can begin focusing on moving back to a Vegan diet. I got a little complacent and I feel bad about that. I was enjoying being healthy. But being omnivore is not the reason I was healthy. It was because I was finally listening to my body. When I was healing I did A LOT of research. I actually ended up on paleo. A lot of the science is sound but just very misguided and bias. I felt great on paleo and vegetarian paleo but the skeptic in me wanted to know why. Was it because meat eggs and butter? No, after a bit of research I realized it was fat soluble vitamins and the removal of wheat and reduction of grains. I was also focusing heavily on fat as calories which I think most vegans neglect. Without getting into a lot of painful science details about vitamin a, carotenoid cleaving and how dietary fat and mineral bioavailability helps it I will say this. Even for someone who is missing intestines I think I can safely become Ovo vegetarian and vegan again. Well Veganism is what nearly killed you. Why would you want to? Veganism didn't nearly kill me. Not paying attention to my body and my diet nearly killed me, not working within the bounds of a medical condition, and becoming complacent did. It's nothing compared to the pain and death in the livestock industry. I hope to rejoin the community soon once I sort myself out. I will always feel like I've lost these past few months of my life though.... Hope you're all well. Love you guys.
  14. Background. I have Crohn's, I have had my entire colon removes along with part of my small intestine. In November my endocrine crashed, partly because of Crohn's but we found out later it was also because of dangerously low Vitamin A, D, most likely K, and many other amino and mineral deficiency. Earlier In January I ended up in the hospital with a total obstruction of my small intestine/ileum, I almost died. I lost over 15lbs over the next few weeks with an upper respiratory infection from the ng tube used to pump my stomach. I was so weak I stayed in the house. I couldn't stomach my Vegan fare and all my research and talking to my doctor and research lead me to believe my diet plus my medical ailments played a part in this disaster. Low bile salts lead to even poorer realization of Vitamin A and the former two lead to low vitamin d and K. The former three lead to low zinc, magnesium, and b12. I started eating pastured eggs and butter, along with cheese and fish. I was so weak there is no way I could stomach my normal Vegan fare. I was literally on the brink of dying. I resisted eating actual terrestrial animals but I was eating so little and losing so much weight I finally reached danger zone for my weight . So I finally relented. I have a hole in my heart. I feel dead. Veganism gave me an anchor to hold onto when I wanted to die. But the dietary aspect has nearly killed me. You are some of the most compassionate grounded people I know and I need your advice. If I go back to Veganism I will end up in the same boat. My medical condition prevents me from realizing nutrients in alot of vegetable products, I cannot eat grains, legumes, beans pulses or soy anymore which takes most of my food choices as a Vegan out. I may be able to get by with a fish oil eggs and butter, but I don't think i could ever eat a Vegan diet again and not die with my lack of food choices. What do I do? I need your help. If I go back to eating Vegan I could die, if I eat meat for much longer.... I swear I may kill myself. I am not kidding. I can choke down meat but I can feel the misery and suffering digesting inside me and I want to die. Please help.
  15. My guts are really trashed. Today is the first day out of the hospital I have had somewhat of an appetite. I ate some french fries cause fuck it, I needed the calories. But they didn't agree with me even though I used to be fine with em occasionaly. Seems having my stomach pumped really changed my innards. Managed to eat a bit over 3000kcal today. I feel like after another few nights sleep I can lift. My amino acids are working well. I think the glutamine is really helping repair my guts. The EAA and BCAA aren't the tastiest but surprisingly they do not bother me. I refuse to quit. I got a bit down today but I am too fucking strong to be conquered. I will adapt, survive, thrive and live. I am a goddamn viking.
  16. Out of the hospital. The amazing dietcian catered to my extreme dietary needs and and sent me off with two super baked potatoes (for the insulin spike and fast digestable carbs) two cups of blended black beans, two cups of vegan chill, a house salad with balsamic vinegar. Now at Starbucks having coffee and a low sugar vegetable juice blend. I need to make some changes to my diet, again. Like blending all my vegetables into a soup, cutting out nuts and replacing with smooth nut butters. I have thickening of my intestinal walls from inflamation. Well the antibiotics trashed the bacteria in my gut because they treated my elevated white count like i was sick with bacteria. As soon as i found out they were hammering me with amoxacillin i put the kabosh on it. But my probiotics had a nice dent in em so i went to look for a Vegan source. No dice. Desperate i caved and bought hormone free yogurt and mixed Organic ginger with it. I feel the life giving rumble of happy little bacteria in m belly. Tomorrow i will not lift. I went two days w/o eating. I need to catch up on nutrients and all the trauma to my body. I will sleep eat and stretch. My soul is thankful to be healthy again.
  17. Fuck. Got a bad intestinal blockage Tuesday afternoon my remaining small intestine blocked up 100% and after waiting for it to clear to no avail I had to call an ambulance. Bagged wager on the way and some oral condtrast/barium did shit to push the monster obstruction out so they gave me an ng tube to release the danger amounts of air building in my gut and pump my stomach. I am 100% better now and since the numskulls finally took the ng out early this afternoon 110%. (they were afraid I'd reconstruct but the obstruction was mechanical and from food so I couldn't have... & after physically show them my passes feces they yanked the ng tube and said they wanted to hold me overnight. I am a fucking viking. I declined their pain medication and rode it out like Odin on a goddamn thundercloud. Then I cut open a can of coconut with my knife against their clear liquid diet and guzzled it along with 3 miso, soups, some dates and a couple kind bars. *My beautiful disabled mom walked 5 miles to get me a can of coconut (my favorite food source) a young coconut coconut water, zero waters, figs, and kind bars. Missed chest day today but gonna eat hearty tomorrow and get back on the horse Fri. http://imgur.com/Ql4T5nP Breaking the no solid food rule. It's kay. Coconut us mostly absorbed into your blood http://imgur.com/LjcpYGw Get well treat from mom. http://imgur.com/HVvSE95 http://imgur.com/mIYdXnN
  18. Well the past few months have sucked. But I've learned from my mistakes and come away a more savvy and resolved man/Vegan. I have worked out dietary deficiencys, rounded off my diet with a whole food/super food optimizer from Now. Removed inflammatory grains, starchy carbs, and vegetable oils from my diet. Increased dietary fat to maximize my natural cholesterol. Paired down my routine to absolute basics shaving a lot of volume/time and increasing the intensity. And I am experimenting with a few more yeti friendly herbal supplements. (Mike Mahler 's aggressive strength, siberian ginseng, and ginger) I've also gone all logical and swapped some of my protein for straight up amino acids. Why, well because I am missing some of my guts and prone to inflammaion, and I feel like it would be less work for my liver. If I am flaring and my liver enzymes are up it will save my liver from skipping a beat with protein powder and hampering me, it might even save me a few Crohn's flares. (Amino are absorbed directly into the blood stream) So here we go. My body weight is currently 146\147 totally fasted and naked. (; 1/6/14 - 45min EZ Deadlifts 266x4 / 241x7 > 271/246 Weighted Chinups 101x5 / 60x8 > 106/65 EZ Rows 171x8 > Swapping with DB Rows DB Lunges 126 x 10 ea. Leg > 131 EZ Shrugs 266 x 12 > 271 Unladen Breathing Chinups x 12
  19. WHY WOULD YOU PUT FISH AND EGGS IN WINE? IT'S MADE FROM GRAPES OR IN PRISON KOOL AID, YEAST AND BROKEN DREAMS.
  20. I don't drink so 'splain to me what is in beer that makes it non Vegan...
  21. Well I just got my bloodwork from the beginning of December. It was a perfect storm of an imperfect diet and me fucking around with my hormones through untested means (amino acids my body produces naturally ) Moral of the story is not to go manipulating any one hormone because our body will just down regulate to attempt to keep homeostasis. D aspartic acid jacked up my prolactin, lowering my testosterone by some means and spinning me off into a violent flare. The inflammation then lowered my testosterone even more. Your body makes a set amount of d aspartic acid and forcing it up by artificial means is no good. My liver enzymes are down as us my prolactin. My testosterone total, free and bio have all DOUBLED. Just by nixng DAA, resting, and fixing my vitamin D (last is questionable as it as have not yet gotten hugh enough to make a change.) The key here is my diet could have been better and is now with the removal of all grains and chemically pressed oils to prevent inflammation as well as higher fat. And I should not have screwed with DAA. Excited to get back to lifting and have my blood tested again to see if my grain free high fat diet has increased my natural levels any. Going to be looking to see if I maximized my cholesterol and if my triglycerides dropped with the removal of grains and to see if Mike mahler 's supplement helped any with estrogen, SHBG and testosterone. Oh and just to clarify. This is only partially my fault. Fuck you Crohn's.
  22. 6`6? Please eat everything in sight, get massive and become a Vegan monster.
  23. Well I am resting very nicely. In the past few days have been sleeping about 10hrs a night. The horrific bags under my eyes are gone. I still have really low Libido but the dreadful fatigue is gone. Not sure if Mike Mahler's supplement is working but I will have to have my hormones tested to find out for sure. I am still slamming a lot of dietary fat to get my cholesterol up. But I feel like I am at the tippy point where I am losing the testosterone boosting effects of exercise so I may run some sprints next week and/or body weight training the following week. Apparently my cholesterol could take months to go up as well as my hormones so I need to be careful when I get back to training not to destroy myself.
  24. Dairy is still very inflammatory and mucus forming. Whether you are allergic or not almost everyone as some reaction to dairy. Plus the whole baby cow being ripped away from its mom, the fact that once the mothers all dried up (after being impregnated over and over again and having the trauma of having her calf ripped away from her over and over again releasing cortisol and adrenaline into the milk along with mucus and puss) She will be slaughtered.
