  1. Ishmael is very thought provoking. I also enjoy what Derek Jensen has to say.
  2. I love to get a silken tofu and blend in the food processor with melted chocolate chips and put it into a pie crust for an amazing chocolate pie! I also like to fry tofu and then dip it into a mixture of soysauce and garlic, mmmmm. there is lots to do with it I think vegweb is a good resource and also cooking with others who cook tofu and other vegan recipes.
  3. I see lots of vegan raw or not who are not doing any type of activism at all beyond not consuming animal flesh and "by products". I think folks who eat cooked food can be just as preachy as folks who are raw foodists. Most people are just trying to spread the word but are not communicating well and come across wrong. Even if someone thinks eating all raw is best being forceful is not likely to change peoples minds.
  4. I enjoys smoothies with smoothie infusion. I also like Yerba Mate in the morning. Also consider taking the honey off of your toast and using agave instead. I like mango with a sprinkle of hemp seeds as well, or other fruit.
  5. How are things out east? We want to hear from you! We miss you!

    greetings!

Welcome to the forum. I look forward to mmeting you when you get back to PDX. I am the mama of 3 perhaps they would give you some pointers on your luch ideas. They are all vegan and deifnately know what ehy do and don't like. They have eaten lots of raw foods, some they love and some they don't. This would be a great place for an all raw cafe, have you considered that?
  7. Cool. I like Seattle pretty well but for me it is too much of a City. I like to go and visit. I hope your move goes well and is a good choice for you!
  8. How do I do that? If I buy the domain name does that mean I have a website or is that just for the name?
  9. Thank you Robert for all of your hard work to bring together community and spread the word about veganism and fitness. You get an idea and actually do something to bring it to fruition! You touch many lives. Thank you for being so gracious it means alot that you care about us and appreciate us. Now get some rest!
  10. Welcome Ana! Great to see you here. I am also glad that we got to talk at some of the VV events. It is important to do what you can to sustain whatever animal free diet you can achieve. Better to be vegetarian for a lifetime than vegan for a month. On the other hand if you think about the suffering the dairy industry imposes on animals and what it does to the enviroment and your health then it is a no brainer. Also I get the thing about not wanting to impose on family members or folks working at a restaurant but when I weigh out that against suffering and death of animals I feel awful if I don't ask.
  11. I hear that. I am so exhausted that I can not push myself any farther. I need rest, so that is what I have mostly done today. I have been a fun time! take some time for yourself Robert and remember to take care of yourself.
  12. I really enjoyed hanging out with you too Liz. I hope we get to spend time together again sometime soon...have a great time out east! I hope you can come here to Portland again for an extended stay. I would love to make it to Sweeden sometime but that probably will not happen anytime soon. We want to see you and Offense and Pippi land!
  13. Anyone interested in heling me come up with a logo for my massage business? I also want to start a website. Anyone have pointers or able to help with getting it going?
  14. He says "hi. I miss you. Move to Portland"
  15. I could not be with someone who did not care about animals. I would not date a non vegan, a racist a kid hater etc. I have a lot of standards I guess, but my husband passes all of them so I am lucky.
  16. I think flexibility training is super important and it is good to balance out the shortening of muscles with the lengthening of them. I just won a free 2 week unlimited pass to a Yoga studio here from the Vegan Vacation silent auction! Whoo hoo!
  17. I have seen those power tower things! That is a good idea! You couls probably do some pilates stuff and in general keeping your abs "on" or flexed as much as possible is good. Anytime I think of it i try to tighten my abs.
  18. I have made vegan quiche before and it is very good. Ilike to try out different combos of veggies. I love Asparagus in it. Also mushrooms are good. thanks for sharing!
  19. Congratulations! I will probably never get that many posts! Hopefully you will be living here in PDX soon. Maybe you can teach me to Dance Dance revolution
  20. That looks really good....how was it? When is the next potluck Issac?
  21. It is really sad to see everyone go, hopefully a few have seen how great portland is and will want to and be able to relocate!
