  1. I never use anything except canvas, or my bike messenger bag. If I had to choose between paper and plastic I would choose paper because they are more re-usable, and I feel have less of an impact on the environment.

At least three of the proposed ingredients, backed by beer giant Anheuser-Busch and pork and food processors, represent a serious threat to organic standards. Take action TODAY! The Organic Consumers Association (OCA) is gathering signatures for a petition to the USDA due May 22, demanding that the comment period be extended. Sign immediately, and PAN will see that your name is added to OCA’s petition. OCA, speaking from the perspective of organic consumers, supports the National Organic Program for clarifying to producers that if an item is not on the National List of exceptions for ingredients, it cannot be used in conventional form. But in this case, consumers should not support all of the National Organic Standards Board's (NOSB’s) 38 recommended additions to the National List. Specifically, OCA opposes the addition of casings from processed intestines, hops (without specific listings), food colorings derived from plants that are supposedly not "commercially available" in organic form, fish oil, beet juice, lemongrass, rice starch and whey protein. USDA claims that these exceptions must be added to the list as concessions to countless companies who have violated the National Organic Standards in the past by using conventional ingredients that were not on the National List. These same companies have been given months to petition the NOSB for inclusion of desired conventional ingredients on the National List. In contrast, the general public has only been allocated 7 days to comment. Please sign the petition today. Demand that USDA extend the comment period to allow real public input. A recent study from the United Kingdom shows that pesticide residues on some common fruits are uncommonly high. Some apples, pears, raspberries, and grapes contained pesticide residues that exceeded the legal limits of permitted residues. The list goes on. Lettuce, cherries, and pumpkins all contained potentially dangerous levels of toxic pesticide residues. The produce originated from all over the world, grapes from Brazil and Europe, lettuce from Spain, and cherries from Canada. Remember that when you reach for that luscious fruit at the grocery you may be inadvertently feeding your children up to six different pesticides on any one piece of fruit. Pesticides are potent hormone disrupters as well as carcinogens, and children are especially susceptible to their toxic effects. What commercially grown fruits are relatively safe? Blueberries, California grapes (in season), citrus, pineapple, and melons. Fruits that are heavily sprayed include strawberries (and most other berries), peaches and nectarines, and imported grapes, When you cannot get organic produce, clean fruit with a fruit and vegetable wash made with natural surfactants, enzymes, sorbitol, and other extracts.   10. even a couple hours a week, at a medium pace will knock off the fat. Riding at 14MPH will burn about 900-1000 calories off your 230lbs frame every hour. If you decided to incorporate mountain biking into your plan you would also get a great upper body workout.

  15. I am pretty sure the new 8003 has two points of juice extraction, and the 8001 only has one. the screen used for juicing has more surface area in the 8003

  17. I don't know what price range you consider expensive for a juicer, but... I have the omega (now the 8003) and it is fantastic. http://omegajuicers.com/8003_8005.html Very low RPMs so the enzymes aren't killed by heat. I can usually make a 16-20oz drink from a couple carrots, a stalk of broccoli, a cup of cabbage and a 1/4 beet. The carrots go in whole, the broccoli needs to be cut because of the size of the floret. I've had it for about 7 years with no problems. Estrogen tells the body to store fat in the hips and thighs. after menopause the ratio of estrogen to androgen decreases so a woman can more easily store fat in the abdominal area (visceral fat) It is much easier to burn fat above the waistline than below. visceral fat (abdominal) increases the risk for insulin resistance, blood pressure, cholesterol. I have also read it is really the location of the fat with regards to the portal vein, which carries blood from the intestinal area to the liver...large fatty deposits in this area enhance the production of blood lipids and cholesterol.

  21. In a normal healthy diet does it matter at which times of the day you eat your protein, carbs, and fat? I understand there are needs pre and post workout, but take those out of the equation for sake of argument. I've noticed recently my mornings are mostly carbs, bordering on 80% of my caloric intake. Over the day I usually see a balancing of about 55% Carb, 30% Fat, and 20% Protein The morning carbs are primarily coming from fruits. Banana, Mango, OJ. It kind of sounds like this would be normal, but is it?
