  1. My fiance kept making them weekly and I was wondering why I was stuck at 220 lbs! I haven't had them in a couple months and I've lost 15 lbs!
  2. This is so good and very easy to make. I don't even want to know how many calories are in it! Ingredients Crust: 2 cups whole walnuts 2 cups whole dates Pie Filling: 2 avocados 1 cup raw chocolate powder or carob powder ½ cup agave syrup (We added more than the original recipe calls for, probably about 1 ½ cups) ½ teaspoon cinnamon pinch of sea salt To make the crust, grind up walnuts in the food processor. Then add the dates. (Don’t forget to take the seeds out) Pat the mixture into the pie pan. For the pie filling, blend all ingredients in the food processor. We started with the avocado first and then added each ingredient as we blended. (You can also use a blender. You may need to add a little water to get the blender going) Add the mixture into the crust and put it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. *We added about 5 spoonfuls of cocoa powder to ours because the raw chocolate was a little bitter. So, ours was probably 99% raw. I was skeptical at first about the avocado, but you cannot taste it at all. I fed it to my parents who are not vegan and they loved it. I didn't tell them the ingredients until after they ate it. The avocado just provides the "cream" consistency but does not add any flavor. Caffeine Warning: I think the caffeine in the chocolate really affected me.   3. Oh, I know it's bad and everything. I just mean overeating watermelon is not as bad as opposed to say, a large amount of cooked, processed food, like an entire box of cereal or an entire jar of roasted almond butter. I don't know, I always felt great after a large meat and extra cheese pizza and 12 or so dead chicken wings. Yeah right!
  4. After my friend telling me for months how good I would feel not eating dairy and dead animals, I finally took his advice 1 year ago today. I feel great! No more stomach pain! No running to the bathroom after meals with diarrhea! No more headaches! No more bad breath! Allergies are way better and just about non existent! My sleep has improved by 100%! According to people that tell me all the time, my skin is glowing! More energy! Feeling great about NOT contributing to the killing of animals! From 255-260 lbs to 204.5 lbs today! The list goes on and on! My fiance also went vegan at the same time and she feels great too! She has lost 45 pounds! I just wanted to share my happy day with you all. Thanks!

  6. I'm pretty excited myself! This weather is great! I've busy getting my garden growing. This is my first time planting a garden but I didn't see any other way with tomatoes being $4.99/pound for organic and eating the way I do.   7. Well, I don't think it's a B12 deficiency anymore to be honest. I don't have any other symptoms other than the burning hands and feet. My energy is great and I feel awesome otherwise. I'm going to wait a few more days and see how I feel. I'm thinking it might just be from using the rototiller and working hard in the garden the last few days. Further symptoms specific to vitamin B12 deficiency are: a red, irritated and possibly shiny, tongue. a reduced sense of taste. altered or reduced sense of touch. reduced sense of vibration (an inability to feel the vibrations of a tuning fork). some people with vitamin B12 deficiency will experience symptoms in their nervous system first. headache. psychological symptoms. pains in the legs (intermittent claudication), difficulties with walking and coordination will gradually occur together with muscle spasm paralysis. a less sensitive sense of touch. shortness of breath, palpitation and chest pains (angina). with pernicious anaemia there is an increased danger of developing cancer of the stomach.

  9. Thanks for the replies. Do you guys even think it's possible to have a B12 deficiency after a short time of not getting any (besides the soymilk in april) or could something else be going on?
  10. Over the past few days the palms of my hands and the bottoms of my feet have had this feeling like they are on fire. The burning sensation also has some tingling along with it. I've been doing gardening lately and originally associated it with that, but I do not feel that way anymore. I decided to do a google search for "burning hands and feet" and also "vitamin B12 deficiency" and burning hands and feet are a symptom of vitamin b12 deficiency, according to the websites I found. Apparently the burning symptoms are related to neurological problems that occur when you are B12 deficient. I've been vegan for 1 year and I haven't been taking any supplements. I started drinking soymilk which is fortified with B12 in April, but stopped about 2 weeks ago when I started a high raw diet. I've really been enjoying eating high raw foods because I feel great. I do not want to have to take supplements, but I'm not sure what to do.   13. These are the best Chocolate Chip Cookies I've ever had. Enjoy! Ingredients: 1 cup unbleached flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon sea salt 1/2 cup vegan sugar 1/4 cup canola oil 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/8 cup water 1/2 bag of chocolate chips (I use Tropical Source 100% dairy free semi sweet chocolate chips) Preheat oven to 350 Mix all ingredients and spoon onto cookie sheets Bake for 9 minutes If the cookies seem a bit too soft, let them cool on the cookies sheet for a minute or two and then transfer to cooling rack. The cookies need to cool completely before eating, usually about 45 minutes. For some reason they do not taste good until they are cool.   17. I'm not sure why I named this meal Sprout City but it's the first thing that came to mind. This is so yummy! Ingredients: 1 tomato 1/3 medium sized yellow onion 1/4 cup cilantro (approximately) 2-3 inches of cucumber 1 avocado sprouts of your choice (I used bean sprouts and a zesty blend) 2 sprouted tortillas sea salt and pepper to taste Dice tomato, onion, cilantro and cucumber to make pico de gallo Spread 1/2 avocado on tortilla Add sprouts and pico de gallo Roll it up and enjoy!   19. Just try it raw! j/k From what I've been told, when you heat the vegetable to a certain temp, you destroy the nutrients. So, I don't think it really matters how you heat it up IMO.
  20. I've done a juice fast a bunch of times with a fresh veggie soup at night with great results. I drank lots of water and did a couple juices throughout the day with broccoli, zucchini, carrot, bell pepper, tomato, and beats. For the soup I cut in half the following veggies and put them in my food processor, carrot, bell pepper, onion, zucchini, tomato, celery and a whole avocado. After I grind the veggies to a pulp, I add a quart organic vegetable broth and a bunch of spices like garlic power, oregano, basil, black pepper and a little sea salt. Do this for 3-7 days and you will feel very clean afterwards. This is a little graphic but I found it interesting. Last time I did this on the 3rd day, my body was still getting rid of the black beans that I ate the day before I started the juice fast. Good luck!
