  1. I'll be checking it out for sure. This will be my first time going, it should be fun.
  2. I've got an old acoustic I might be able to part with. It was my very first guitar I ever bought but I'm to the point now where it doesn't hold as much sentimental value for me (at least I think so. I may cry when it leaves my hands). It's a full-sized dreadnought with steel strings. I can bring it up to Vegan Vacation or I will actually be in portland in about 2 weeks anyways for a wedding.
  3. I took McDonald's all the way into 2032. Let's hope they never live that long and that veganism and vegetarianism is a lot more prevalent by then.
  4. Alright Robert, I'll try to bring my camera next time I'm in Portland. Once I move up there we'll take your dorky videos to the next level!
  5. I watched some of the other vids on your youtube account. I've gotta say Robert... you're a huge dork on camera. Or maybe it's just your huge mullet. I'm not sure.
  6. I am going to try and make it depending on my work schedule. I'm headed down to a conference down in San Diego right after Vegan Vacation. I'm going to try and visit on the coast, I'll just rent a hotel or something in town. Then if I can find a place to crash in Portland I'll join you guys for the Portland fun as well.
  7. PRI = Pizza Research Institute. AMAZING vegan pizza. All my meat-eater friends prefer it to any other pizza. the 3P (Potato, Pear, and Pesto) pizza is fantastic as well as their other offerings.
  8. Well now I'm going to have to come if there's going to be food like that there!
  9. Man.. every time you post pictures of food it always looks so freakin' delicious. I've got to learn how to cook like that!
  10. I can't agree more about the traffic. Up here in Oregon I'll be driving with someone and they'll start complaining about the "bad traffic" we're "stuck" in. I usually laugh and tell them that what they consider traffic is no where close to what happens on the freeways of southern california. It's tough if you have a long work commute.
  11. I may have to give it a go. I've read through your site and felt compelled by the whole raw food thing. Great challenges on the forum too, I've been trying to complete them as they are released.
  12. I just finished a stocks & investing course at university and have begun foray into investing. I started out with a mutual fund and also opened a Roth IRA to start saving for retirement. I agree with JW on checking out motleyfool.com They offer tons of information and well-written articles you help educated yourself on finances and investing.
  13. I'm currently in Eugene attending the University of Oregon. Graduating in a few weeks actually, but I'll be staying around through the summer. I can't recommend Eugene at the moment because I have severe allergies and Eugene is not the place for an allergy sufferer as I type through red burning my eyes while trying to blow my nose every 30 seconds. But any other day Eugene is a great city. I actually live directly across from one of the organic wholefood markets in town which is incredibly convenient when I need to stock up on things. Good luck with your move!
  14. I have to say all those pics look great. You're really beautiful. Personally. I'd go with #2. The truck is very sexy, but a little over the top in my opinion. The lingerie is appealing, but as was already mentioned there's the whole "Is that fur?" thing that people might freak out about. #2 is sexy and elegant. Regardless which one you submit, I wish you luck in the contest.
  15. Nice to see you make on the forums Gabe! I'll stop by this week to pick up some vega and say what's up.
  16. I'll have circulation problems every now and then. Sometimes it can be 85 degrees outside but my finders will be blue and purple. I had always been told it was something called Raynauds's Disease. Althought I wouldn't really consider it a "disease" per say. I seem to be experiencing it less and less frequently now though.. Maybe it's something you grow out of with age.
  17. Nice to meet you in person Robert! I'd love to help out but I won't know until the day of the event. I'll be up in Portland all weekend shooting a documentary. Most of our main interviews are scheduled for Friday though so if I have enough time on Saturday to swing by I'll let you know. Oh and thanks for the cool "gift ziplocks" you handed out at the talk!
  18. I used to be a huge alfredo fan before I went vegan. Would you mind sharing the recipe?
  19. Been down that road before, and it ain't happenin. He's a meat eater through and through. He grew up in Alaska wrestling grizzlies or whatnot. Maybe I can show him the movie "Earthlings" and see if that changes his mind anymore. It'd have to do something cause the kid's got heart. There's enormous pressure from the coaches however to "eat meat and bulk up". Worth a shot though. I'll let you know.
  20. Absolutely. I have the routine I took away from the training camp, but the book offers a lot more exercises and depth. I'll try to get my routine listed though and maybe get some videos to go along with it or something. I will note that it's meant to increase strength and flexibility (more important for basketball and tennis athletes and the like) and is quite different from heavy weight lifting. Great for increasing balance as well though. If I have time this weekend I'll try and get some exercises laid out.
  21. Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone! Robert - I stopped by Ultimate Blend and met Gabe. Really nice guy and I picked up some Vega for a pretty good price. I'm reading a book called Body for Life by Bill Phillips. Can anyone vouch for if it is worth reading? I'll obviously ignore all of the diet advice in the book which focuses on a meat-eater diet as well as promoting his own life of products. But what about the other advice on lifting and exercising? Worth following? Thanks again for the warm welcome! I'm excited to be a part of the forums.
  22. Hey Everyone! It's been recommended to make an introduction so here we go. A native of southern california, I was born and raised in San Diego. (Not actually, I was born in Vista/Oceanside which is about 40 minutes north of downtown SD to those who are familiar). I left the wonderful sunny weather of california for Eugene, OR where I am currently finishing up my senior year graduating with a major in Multimedia Design and minor in Business Administration. I went vegan at the end of summer in August, so I've been vegan for 9 months now and I feel great. There were some hurdles no doubt, but now I don't think I'll ever go back. This term I've decided to focus on getting in shape w/ a focus on strength and flexibility. As far as background I used to do a program developed by Marv Marinovich called Prodbodx. I attended a few days to check out his athletic training center in southern california where my roommate (a basketball player on the UO team) was training. I had been practicing the things I learned there until I moved into my apartment that doesn't give me much room for a huge yoga ball. Anyways, I'm taking a weight training class this term and trying to get back into some sort of work out schedule. Hopefully I'll have all of you to look to for inspiration and encouragement.
