  3. Hahaha oh my god that is the sweetest thing ever! And clearly been skipping leg days Loll how are you guys doing??

Haven't trained today when I had planned to.. Got a semi promotion at work, same amount of pay but bigger responsibilities and stuff, I literally got it because of my guns.... It's essentially a lot of loading and moving heavy shit haha

Only problem is that along with the tiredness of early mornings it's now physically demanding too so il see how training goes...

  4. It's hot here too man, hotter than I can ever remember it being... Have had the fan on all night for the past week haha. Yeah things are good thanks man, enjoying my new department at work, I'm at right now at 5:30am to head in, but will finish by 12pm how are things your side of the water? Job okay?

  6. Bout friggen time your were back lol....missed ya!

Fair play to ya with your decision's on bringing some eggs and dairy back into your diet, as ya know i did the same a few months back and its improved my health makers as well as improved my natural hgh's:)

Like the training, are ya back at the gym or still training at home mate?

    Best

    Rob

Hey mannn yeah I don't feel much different to be honest. Just more regular in the bathroom... I never felt different when I turned vegan either.. I think food is food, as long as you aren't eating processed stuff too often then you're pretty much fine haha,

I genuinely never believed that animal products gave you diseases.. As I said in my other post a lot of vegans I know just believe what suits them without looking into things.

  7. Yeah it's been a difficult decision to make but I'm starting to feel more comfortable about it!

If it was difficult because of morals, you can consider buying organic milk (or at least where they let the cows graze) and free range eggs, the treatment for the animals is substantially better in my opinion.

Organic isn't necessarily more ethical.. In most cases it's a lot less...

I studied animal care, management and welfare for 2 years and through experience I learnt that animals that are considered organically raised aren't allowed medicine when they are sick for example..

Obviously I would only buy free ranged, battery hens are illegal in the uk anyway.

All eggs and dairy I'm consuming are local on the Isle of Wight which means no factory farms and no mass production, just homely well cared for farms.

I'm starting to see through so much propaganda, most of which is made up crap from Peta..

  8. First training log since my comeback! Here goes!

My goal is to get back to these numbers by the end of the summer and to reach new PBs by the end of the year!

    Today's training:

    Squat 62.5Kg

    X 5 reps

  9. Worst friend ever award goes to.. Ross Cosgrove!

Hey man, sorry I've not been in touch! So happy to see you're still killing it bud! Am currently trying to catch up with your journal haha!

In regards to your weight gain, it's very likely muscle! Especially since your training is so intense, your bound to have made some size increases, do you have those weird things that test your body fat percentage? I would go by that rather than the scales

  10. Hey everyone, first off, big apology from me for being completely off the radar for so long! Have missed chatting to everyone here with a few in particular!

I've made some huge changes to my life recently and I'm hoping I'll still be welcome here and have your support...

Fairly recently I started reacting really badly to soy and other legumes, even a can of baked beans was uh... Let's just say not going through me properly... Lol..

I had to make the really difficult decision to go back to eating dairy and eggs, at least for now. I don't expect anyone to accept this but please understand that it was a decision that I may for myself.

Not just through dietary needs but also financially it started to make more sense for me to eat dairy and eggs again due to living with my girlfriend etc.

At work I've moved departments to a more social part of the store that will allow me to train more frequently! And as such I've changed my training to suit strength gains! I've gone back to 5x5 to train as a power lifter, and also incorpirated sets to failure to gain a little size.

Anywho, I hope I'm still welcome aboard the forum.. I've made big contributions to the forum for years now and hope this doesn't see me shunned..

Ps. I'm starting my log from scratch! Right here!

  11. Hey Michael!! And hey Chris!!

I've been a bit low energy recently, I've been doing 6am starts at work (which I love don't get me wrong) but with the recent hot weather I just can't go to sleep any earlier than usual.. Yesterday I suffered through the day with a migraine that was just relentless... I had intended to train at the start of the week but it just didn't happen :/

I, going to go all out tomorrow on a leg and chest day though! Also Chris I got your FB message will reply shortly!

Miss you all! Sorry for my lack of posting, I just need to sort my shit out haha

  12. I detest zoos as well. However, I would have actually liked to see someone like you working there over others who don't care for the individual animals. You could have been a force from the inside to illicit change. Although, I think that would have made your job very difficult. Also, you would be a guard against brutality and abuse of the animals. If an animal is suffering, your voice might be the only thing that helps that animal.

If you do take a position there in the future, there will be some vegans who understand your motivations. Unfortunately, a lot won't.

Yeah I totally agree, and I know what you mean about the way certain vegans feel..

I almost don't consider myself a vegan though, because that implys that I follow a strict set of rules based on an absolute morality.. That's wrong to me, I do what I think is right and don't do what I believe to be wrong whilst using reason to justify my actions. I'm meat/dairy/egg/leather/fur free but some other things considered to be non vegan I don't necessarily boycott.

  13. Argh I'm exhausted! Training was awesome today!

    HIT!

    Deadlifts- 115Kg/253lbs

    X 11 reps

Total failure! Thought I was gonna die...

    Pull ups

X 9 reps! New record haha

Dumbbell rows, made them light to get a better pump!

    20Kg / 44lbs

Lost count.. But was roughly 20 reps

    Shrugs

    60Kg / 132lbs

    Lost count..

    Barbell bicep curls

    25Kg / 55lbs

X about 18 or so reps..

Supersetted with bands until I thought I was gonna puke!

  14. I hear ya Dylan, it'll just be a summer stop gap I'm hoping.. Or at most just for the year

I'm back!! I didn't log the last workout I did a week or so ago and can't remember what I did...

Anywho.. Training shortly! It's deadlifts! Back and bis! With a bit of shoulders!

  15. I didn't take the job, I could almost justify working there given their amazing reputation and international conservation programmes that protect tigers in India and biodiversity in Madagascar but I had too mangy issues with it.. Not just the cage thing but the hours, pay and partly the role itself.. They're keeping me in mind for future jobs, I have the right qualifications and experience to be a keeper and higher positions such as their conservation projects so who knows.. For now I've gone back to the supermarket I worked at as a teenager.. Not ideal but the pays good, the hours are great and it'll get me through the year until something comes along!

  16. Hey dude! And hey everyone! Just to let everyone know that I'm still knocking about haha, I haven't really trained or come on here for a chat for a while, I've got a shit load of stuff going on,

I recently had to go back to working at the supermarket I was at through college... Had no choice, needed a job to pay rent, I'm hoping it's just for summer.. Anyway it's a lot of hours and the spare time I have is spent sorting out my house and cat etc..

Anyways give me an add on Facebook (just search Ross Cosgrove) or Instagram rosscosgrove

If you wanna catch up for a chat or anything.

Il be back to training next week!!

  17. how is this pertinent to animal rights ethics and veganism? Let's see: we have 2 species of domestic animals that would otherwise be almost exclusively complete carnivore rival predators in the wild that wouldn't ordinarily give a damn about human children. But oh so cruel cruel domestication from humans causes them to treat humans as family members in certain cases and other human's children from other families as a snack when cut loose. There are some extreme members of ALF and others who hate all forms of animal domestication from humans and I am not one of those. Humans have responsibility to our own species first and foermost, but also have great power and rulership and responsibilty over creatures who don't evolve out of a very limited crude predator & prey mentality that won't ever change. Humans have a right and responsibility to control their populations, but I am vegan whenever I can be because we don't need to eat animals and exploit them the way the meat industry and animal products industry does.

    If this cat

didn't do his job in the ecosystem as a predator beast, the rat population would cause all sorts of nasty diseases like bubonic plague an other pandemics and biohazards
