  1. I would imagine that if one trains right, that muscle could = explosive power, quickness, and agility. but if trained for looks only...no dice. I myself follow Bruce Lee's advice and dont believe in having muscles upon muscles if i cant use them for anything in real life.
  2. tofu, soy, apples, bananas, oatmeal, bagels, wholewheat spaghetti, peppers and onions, chickpeas, beans, peanutbutter, rice, carrots, chocolate soymilk, pretzels, wholegrain cereal
  3. theyre both me! hehe. the pictures were taken at hickory run state park. its about 15 minutes from me. thats why I love pennsylvania. we have parks everywhere. there's a 2 year difference between those pictures. I did not consume any special stuff. I dont consider that stuff special. I am all natural and get all the energy I need from food sources. I'm just really into nutrition so I know what to eat and what will make me grow. I dont know what sth is. but creatine I have never touched and never will. I believe in hard work and smart training, not supplementation. I eat about 6-8 meals a day. I take in 200-300g protein a day, and about 3,000-4,000 calories. hope that helped.
  4. I was wondering how many vegans out there consume honey ??? I know a couple vegans that consume honey, and I was just curious how many others consume it. I, myself, don't beleive in consuming honey.
  5. here are two pictures. one was taken right after I got over mononucleosis. I was 140lbs, extremely pale, and very weak. I then decided to go vegan. the other picture was taken recently. I am now 160lbs. 20 lb vegan muscle gain!   7. yeh I was way smaller, 140lbs. now I'm up to 160lbs. heaviest I've been since highschool.
  8. thanks. im working hard in the gym. my friend is trying really hard to bulk my legs up since I'm top heavy. I'm hoping to use one of those pics for Realfood magazine. and hope to somehow get into some modeling eventually, so I can help show the world that vegans can be strong and healthy.

  10. today my mom and I went hiking and she took some great shots of me by a waterfall. One of the pictures came out phenomenal. I am going to use it for Realfood magazine. I will send you a copy when I come back from England with the mag. I'd enter the contests, but I already won some. I wanna see other ppl compete in em.

  14. yep we're gonna be working out together from now on, as much as we both can (work schedules, etc.). Ive already noticed a phsyical difference in my size. this is pretty rad
  15. I listen to Natalie Imbruglia all the time....how wierd is that, for a metal head? I will be listening to Dark Tranquility, Cephalic Carnage, etc. then suddenly pop in Natalie. haha its awesome.

  17. okay so since I finally have a lifting partner, I switched over to regular benching without the machines since someone could spot me. I warmed up with 20 reps of 135lbs. the heaviest I got to today...I was able to pump out 235lbs X 6 reps on regular bench. I know I can do a lot more. and I will try next week to go for 265lbs. and on decline press with dumbells today... I did 100lb dumbells X 4 reps
  18. I totally think Katie Coryell is really cute. she surfs and is vegan. thats pretty awesome! ----- Tonya Kay is a raw fooder...and her article says it helped her with her bi-polarness. I am not a raw fooder....but I am bi-polar. I wonder if one day, if I adapted to a raw diet...if that would help me out.
  19. this may seem kind of an odd question.... but i was wondering.... what raises a man's testosterone level? and what can lower it? certain activities, actions, moods, foods, etc. ???? I'd like to know
  20. In the past couple years, I have really gotten into The Smashing Pumpkins. The music total reminds me of when I was younger. like certain songs bring me back to an exact moment and place in time. The Deftones also do this for me. does anyone have any bands like this? that when you listen to, its more than just music, its life. if so, please list em, along with the memory.

  22. today I took my lil brother to the gym and to my surprise this guy comes up to us cause he recognized my brother and said hello to me. I had no idea who he was...then slowly I realized he had cut his hair. This guy was actually an old friend of mine from highschool! back in highschool I had taken this kid under my wing. He was very unpopular, long hair, had some teeth/jaw problems and was overweight. He used to be teased on for being overweight. He was a metal kid like me. He was god on guitar and he was the one that inspired me to start playing music. Well back in highschool I decided to start weightlifting and he lifted with me. I whipped him into the best shape ever. we hung out practically everyday and our workouts were intense. that yr I went from 140lbs to 175lbs. and he had dropped a tremendous amount of weight and gained muscle. okay so how does this fit in now? I thought he had joined the marines, but due to some facial surgery (fixed his teeth and jaw..he looks great), he had metal plates and stuff in his face and wasnt allowed to serve. So anyway here he is in the gym, and he looks in great shape....proabably about as big as I am. and he thanked me for getting him into weightlifting and that I have influenced him to stick with it over the years, and he wants to go to school to become a personal trainer. which is quite ironic, cause he was the first person I had trained, and once I realized how awesome it felt to help someone get in shape, he inspired me to become a personal trainer. so here we are, still metal kids, gonna jam together, workout together, and possible both go to personal training school together. it feels great to have an old friend come back into my life. this is the exact thing I need to help me bulk up. someone who will push me to lift heavier. all about the metal....whether im playing it....or lifting it.
