  1. i love: tool, korn, metallica I also enjoy: nirvana, mudvayne, anthrax, fear factory, megadeth, otep, coal chamber, kittie, staind, helmet, filter, ministry, pantera, stone temple pilots, static-X, sponge and IDK if evanescence counts as heavy but i'd list them here too. lol
  2. craving sweets is a natural instinct that humans evolved to have when they needed serotonin levels to be higher and would naturally eat fruit in response to it. the healthy thing to do when you want sweets is therefore to eat something like a banana for tryptophan (serotonin precursor) or possibly just something really high in sugar like a date or ... mango? i don't really have a lot of examples. but just remember that sugar time equals fruit time. (learned from thrive diet by brendan brazier)
  3. without looking into what 80/10/10 means specifically, i can say that i've read somewhere that eating enough complex carbohydrates helps you to feel full longer.
  4. my DHA is Spectrum Vegetarian DHA which I found at whole foods. I don't take it. for Omega 3 though I take Vega EFA Antioxidant Oil Blend. shake it up right and it tastes like candy.
  5. 315 bent row x21 210 assist dip x24 190 crunch x24 (3x8), 32(1x32) nothing amazing happened tonight, except for vega gel which i bought a box of and have been using. it's noteworthy i think to mention that arnold shwarzenegger's pumping iron youtube excerpt where he talks about how good he feels from lifting is similar to the feeling this gel gives me to a small degree in my vessels shortly after taking it: Warning, this isn't children friendly http://youtu.be/rfDwTNU6dzU
  6. 325 dl x19 155 ohp x24 170 bench x22 came home after feeling like i was tired, usually do side raises, shrugs, reverse grip preacher curls, and front raises but my left radius bone (forearm) is still hurting from the preacher curls and i'm not going completely wreckless on myself today. found out from some forum searching that the deadlift dizziness is from breathing lots while squatting before rep.. inhale a bunch while standing instead so the blood doesnt stay in the legs too long. still taking it easy cuz of the arm problem.. but probably back on track minus preacher curls (and those other arm exercises) for day after tomorrow.
  7. Dips are also compound lifts.. I don't know if you could say the same about its reverse motion, the side raise, but I do those & shrugs too to stay in balance.
  8. I read somewhere that you shouldn't do isolation lifts for at least a year of lifting, because your frame is still growing, and if you add isolation moves to your growing frame it will disappear into the larger size muscles. In other words, wait until you have a frame size you're happy with before doing isolation moves.
  9. papa johns no cheese only veggies, original crust = vegan
  10. vega endurance bars, or energy gel if you can afford. mainly because their main ingredient is dates. you mostly just need a large supply of glucose, which dates contain in large amounts. it wouldn't hurt to have some complex carbs (glucose=simple carb) in addition, because they are for cardiovascular energy so eat some bread or rice or potatoes also. i think goji berries are a good source of simple carbs too.. everybody so far has the right idea, fruit & toast or whatever. i just wanted to add that dates are the best fruit. bring some to replenish after 60 minutes.
  11. 310 bent row x24 or 25, lost count in last set 110 preacher curl x24 210 assisted dip x15 190 crunch x24 + 32 real fast actually felt a burn in my crunches on 2nd to last rep

  13. My lime flavor gemma arrived. It is excellent. One of the best I've had so far. I'd avoid the strawberry cheesecake one, it starts feeling too rich in the mouth if you eat it every day.
  14. The rest Popeye's favorite on bed of rice, cut open to show potato and spinach inside Noodles in Wonton with soup: spinach wonton, shiitake, yuba, shanghai cabbage and carrots. savory sun-dried tomato-mushrooms.
  15. Popeye's favorite <3 Miso Soup & Cold Basil Rolls Popeye's Favorite: Vegan Bacon wrapping around potato & spinach, with edamame broccoli & veggie drumstick, in black pepper sauce + rice
  16. Why are you so buff but do such low weight exercises all the time? Have you gotten to the point where it's hardly ever a heavy thing except to stay a certain size, and the rest of the time toning?
  17. So i did the rest of my workout that i usually do on deadlift day. dumbbell side raises 80 x16 (+16 from last night) on right side, x24 on left side 135 barbell shrug x24 75 reverse grip preacher curl x24 (EZ bar from now on for this) 85 front raise x24 the shrugs were hard because i thought i didn't need to bring chalk in, which made my grip slippery (and it's hard as hell to grip a barbell for shrugging). the EZ bar makes reverse grip preacher curls way less angular in motion and more of a vertical affair, which makes it seem to combine better with front raises and feels like more muscles are being used. happy to be getting front raise up because i need it to catch up with the weight i do overhead press at. feeling less guilty now that i made up for almost passing out last night @ the bench.
  18. sunflower vegetarian restaurant in dc area (vienna and falls church locations) is award winning for best in dc area. most of their things are vegan, and the other things can be requested as vegan. i go there once a week. this is what i got tonight and then brought home: the first picture is what i had in the restaurant (Sunflower Satisfaction) 2nd picture is vegan chicken sandwich, zen roll (avocado and cucumber), and free salad w/ the sandwich. 3rd picture was my appetizers (veggie fried chicken and spinach wonton soup)

  21. 320 deadlift x24 155 ohp x19 165 bench x24 80 dumbbell side raise x8 right arm so at this point i'm too fatigued to be motivated, and my left arm's forearm bones hurt, so i just decide to quit and go home for the night (with shrugs, reverse grip preacher curls, and front raises planned) i also had trouble doing deadlifts because of fuzziness/ringing/numb arms, at one point felt like i was about to die unless i breathed enough oxygen in. my hypothesis for this is that i wasn't getting enough sugar into my blood from my energy bar and that's because the oj i drank had gone bad, so my stomach was slowed down. i managed to do all 24 reps but it slowed me down a lot. by the time i was preparing for the bench press i wanted to lay down and go to sleep. maybe i'll finish up this workout tomorrow.
  22. trueprotein.com got my order wrong went for 100% gemma, they shipped me 1/2 leucine 1/2 caseinate. what weirds me out is that gemma is high in leucine, and i got natural strawberry flavor on it, which makes me think of the last order from them being premium strawberry. paranoia is telling me they did this to harass me for being vegan. i emailed them about it. thought it was noteworthy.. plus it took 9 days for them to get it to me, which is weird
