  1. Preheat grill to 400 degrees * Pour EVOO into bottom of grill safe pan *Clean Rosemary branches & remove all the bottom leaves but keep the very top *Clean Figs gently under running water * Very, very gently pierce the fig from top to bottom onto RM branch/Skewers * Place skewers into pan coat w/a little more EVOO then place on grill * Cook for approx. 15 - 20mins or untill figs about to burst. ---- At this point I toss in Pine Nuts (pine nuts will turn golden brown) ------I also add a dash of Makers Mark at this point. I don't know what it does to the figs but it's like magic!
  2. This is so easy to make! I say try it & if you don't like it then feed it to the birds
  3. 1 3/4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon chopped rosemary plus 2 (6-inch) sprigs 1 teaspoon baking powder 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup water 1/3 cup olive oil plus more for brushing -or- sunflower oil Kosher Salt Preheat oven to 450°F with a heavy baking sheet on rack in middle. Stir together flour, chopped rosemary, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Make a well in center, then add water and oil and gradually stir into flour with a wooden spoon until a dough forms. Knead dough gently on a work surface 4 or 5 times. Then roll out as flat as you can Once the dough is rolled out gently pour EVOO on top & a dash of salt. Place in center of oven for approx. 10 to 12 mins. --- I started using sunflower oil in place of EVOO because it makes for a crisper cracker. However, I still pour EVOO on top of the dough for flavor.
  4. When we go out & friends give me a hard time about not eating I explaine I'm not "Recreational Eater". For example: when I go to a soccer game ~ I watch the game or I go the County Fair ~ I ride the rides. I don't just sit there & eat mindlessly. I hope that makes sense. K

All are excellent for the body

  11. Just remember 99% of the grocery store produce will not produce plants becasue they have been treated with Sprout Inhibitor Residues (i.e. they were built for shelf life). Even if they do grow it might not look or taste like the original. Make sure you're getting an Organic avacado: **Avocado – A new GM avocado variety is scheduled to be introduced this year that is immune to “stress” and pests, per an Indian state report published in March, 2008. Informed consumers are the best consumers
  12. He's a love bug! He doesn't like the fact that I spend time w/the weights & not him
  13. Brother & Sister NYC recue street cats Hocus & Pocus Pocus (girl) is very small & mostly spends her days in my bed.
  14. If I can get anyone do just one thing it would be to can your own tomatoes. The taste is like a ray of summer sun on a bleak Feb day. If you don't want to can you can grill or roast tomatoes, bag them & toss in freezer. We stashed over 20 bags this summer & they go pretty quick when tomato season is over.
  15. Time to hot pack the jars & put into a boiling water bath for 17mins. (you can use smaller jars & the processing time will be less)

  23. Most of the people I know who shop at Wal-Mart are the ones who are being squeezed out of the middle class into being poorer with every year, and they're definitely not "wackos". Lots of good people out there who are barely making ends meet who have to choose between new items from cheap sources or shopping exclusively at thrift stores, and not everyone is a fan of second-hand goods for all their wearables. With a declining economy and fewer job options to make a solid living without a college education (and, fewer jobs now for those with degrees), it's not an easy thing to convince someone scraping by on $12/hour with kids at home to spend $25 on an American Apparel t-shirt and $60 on a pair of organic fair-trade cotton yoga pants Believe it or not there are great places to get good kids clothes that do not have to be purchased at Walmart. I buy lots from Yard Sales or this great place Thrift store called: "Unique Thrift" Unique Thrift is run by the Vietnam Vets & is just amazing. I do not shop at Walmart & avoid Target like the plague. Walmart & Target are unethical, they pay slave labor and destory endangered Forrests all for "Cheap Goods" & "Fast Profit"
  24. Nothing but a tool for the Politicians to get all the wackos in an uproar. Nevermind the fact that most of the wackos all shop at walmart for the low, low prices.
