  1. Interesting. . . Especiallly from a "cheesehead." I'm from Milwaukee . . .
  2. Hey lady, I have to ask - because I just noticed . . . is your hair very short - like buzz cut short?? I have dreads - have had them for the last 6 1/2 years . . . and I'm very tempted to just cut it all off. Especially after what happened to my dog last night . . . I feel a transformation coming on.
  3. Hee Hee Clever Name - first time I smiled today. Dolphin Chocolate is VERY vegan and SUGAR FREE! I highly recommend it! Cable lunges are done at a cable station with a rope attachment at the high point. Either face the weight stack or face away from it - enjoy the different challenge of each angle - one way is a front lunge - one way is a backwards. You get resistance through the entire movement - great for the abs too! A natural runner is an elliptical that simulates running - feels like running in sand without the impact. Taking a very unplanned day off for a terrible reason ... my sweet light of my life - my little Bo, was attacked last night by a large dog who got off the leash of his owner. It was horrifying - and doubly so, because he was attacked in July 06 by an off leash German Shepard. He had to have surgery - he is home now with a drain - very scared and in shock. Have been by his side since he got home to us at 6am. My eyes hurt, I have a headache and am generally nauseaus. But, going to prepare a wonderful meal for my family - vegan fajitas with fresh guac, and a summer salad with tomatoes from our garden . . . sometimes eating good food together can be very healing.

  5. Hey lady!! Looks like you are really on track . . . I need to detail my strength workouts more like you do . . . To answer what you asked me . . . for filling foods . . . I try to eat a lot of fiber and good fat. I'm not keeping track of calories right now - because it always makes me feel deprived. But, if I just choose whole, unprocessed foods - maninly fruits, veggies, beans, nuts . . . I feel like I don't need to count. I have been trying to cut out most of the processed stuff - even tofu and whole grain ezekial bread- unless I go out. I save it for then when the choices are limited. If I feel hungry - I eat . . . which usually is about every 2-3 hours. I also feel like if I chew my food A LOT . . . I get hungry less. I'm not sure if this really answers your question . . . I am truly perpetually hungry - always have been. I'm always thinking about my next meal!! Keep on doing what you're doing! Have a wonderful week!

  15. Hi!! In an ideal world and probably according to most styles of yoga - it is most beneficial to practice every day - even smaller amounts of time - rather than one long practice. However . . . living in the real world - and loving all types of physical activity - sometimes we only have the chance to practice once a week - which is of course, better than none at all. In my perfect world - I get up - do cardio first thing . . . then have a weight training session around lunch time and have a yoga practice 5pm or after . . . Ahhhhhhhh. . . to dream . . .
  16. Hi!! Has anyone used medicinal gold for joint pain?? If so - how much did you take and how often? And what were the results? Thanks!!
  17. Hey Nathan, Maybe post a typical day's diet so that we can see what you are actually consuming and when. Thanks!
  18. AM: coffee and 2 slices ezekial toast - one with nat PB, one with raw almond butter - one banana 9am 45 min barefoot beach run and 20 min beach walk 1p: big raw salad with grilled portabello, zuchini and eggplant - and tiny bit of balsamic vinagrette - yum! A few sweet potato fries - couldn't resist. Hips were killing me all through run - had a big hip opening class yesterday in yoga . . . then knees were achy . . . Will be starting glucosamine/chondrotin supps and medicinal gold when they arrive.
  19. Hey!! Thanks for posting on my journal - that was very sweet! And - yes, I know all about the foam roller - I need to be more dedicated to it like you are - thank you for the inspiration! First of all - praise where it is it due - gorgeous, lean body ... whatever you are doing - you are doing it very well. Thank you for detailing your workout plan for the next five weeks - very complete and looks like it will be very effective . . . I like the odd number of reps . . . Keep posting - can't wait to see your progress! Take Care, Lindsay

  21. I have to share this with everyone on this website because I think it is a company in line with most of our nutritional beliefs and goals. www.vegetabodies.wholefoodfarmacy.com Everything is organic, raw and vegan - except the products containing maize corn which is cooked. I have been looking for a product that I was passionate about and believed in to sell to my personal training clients to help them achieve their goals. I think I found it with Wholefood Farmacy. Check it out and let me know what you think! FYI - everything I've tried so far is super yummy and the sublime cream is an amazing night eye cream!!

  25. Wowsers sister! Thanks for all the info! I have always been intrigued by this type of workout - I've never had any instruction in power lifting - and don't have a partner - which I think would be necessary . . . You are more than welcome for the compliments ... they are well deserved - just good to see someone (especially a woman) so lean and well muscled representin' the vegan front! Take Care!
