  1. Uhh yea.. Probably wont happen as I don't want to fly to American to eat out
  2. The train station is better than the hovercraft, it's full of eels ¬_¬
  3. The fact that he is only concerned about his weight, gets depressed and obsessed about it.
  4. Dw i'n dod o Abertawe. .... Mae fy hofrenfad yn llawn llyswennod Okay I'm far better at spoken Welsh than I am writing it. Plus I've been living in England for a while, kinda got out of practice.
  5. Nah, we have a Yosushi.. Also, Shwmae? O ble wyt ti'n dod?
  6. Well I'm not a fan of their Tempeh as it seems to break apart when cooking, I prefer something firmer and since I go to the Asian supermarket to get that I also get firm cooking tofu, noodles and so on. I tend to get hemp powder as I have that with my oats in the morning. The vegan jam's, spreads and so on. I haven't looked around it fully but it seems to have a lot of things that I may pick up when I got there next, their deliveries are on Fridays so I may do my food shopping then. The annoying thing is that you can't get sprouted beans in this country anymore. If anyone can find any please tell me! Apparently there was a food poisoning scare from sprouted beans coming in from Germany of South Africa, though the beans I got came from the North of England...
  7. I guess I just go to the wrong places. Btw when you're in Portsmouth, check SMile, opposite Waitrose near the Southsea shopping center.
  8. I know what you mean. However say I'm going to stay with friends in another part of the country, I don't know what's around that I can eat. Even in Portsmouth we don't have the typical family place to eat apart from SMile, and I really like SMile as they are friendly and will let you know exactly what they are putting in your food and most things are cooked there, apart from the vegan burgers but then again it's not a bad burger if you like that sort of thing. Pizza, yea I stopped eating it. I even got a bit wary of Chinese as they would do Tofu dishes but fry some of the stuff in animal based fat or something like it.
  9. I am not sure how America is on this subject but I know for a fact that eating out as a vegan in my stretch of the wood, Portsmouth, UK. Whenever I go out for somewhere to eat there is only really a salad on the menu I can eat, a small, green salad with the cheese removed. I've tried a few times to quiz the staff at bars and restaurants on what's in their food and if I could get some things changed to a vegan friendly option but 99% of them look overly confused and usually shake their head after coming back from the chef. To this date I have only found two places I can eat out at in the city, one is a Cafe called "SMile" which does meat dishes and fully vegan dishes and they will even make their vegetarian dishes vegan for you (usually this means removing the cheese but I'm not complaining). However they only open until about 4pm which is a bummer. Secondly is a sushi bistro which is very friendly and will try to make what you ask them (though I had to explain what vegan was to them.. monks in Japan are vegan so saying monk style food usually works) however due to the cooking and so on I've only really got two options which is a tofu bowl (though it's a lot of tofu and rice) or the Veggie Bento which I ask them to take the mayo out of. Also, if I'm staying over a friends place or I'm staying with friends for a few days you can't really get take out. Well you may get the odd Chinese and Dominos will make you a no-cheese pizza but then again do I want to be eating that for days? It usually involved me buying food to make there, which can be a bit embarrassing. Do you guys have any problems, suggestions?
  10. I don't mind helping but I'm not really and "athlete". I study martial arts in my spare time, both Kendo and Wing Chun.
  11. I'm not sure what it's called but it's on Albert road, since you're not far from Portsmouth you may know where that is. I kinda gave up on H&B now as it only really sells mayo, burgers and processed TVP.
  12. Well generally he saw me losing weight because of my diet (proper use of the term diet) and how I was working out so he decided he wanted to do it to. First of all he said he wanted to lose a bit of fat mass and even though he's not overweight I was okay with it as long as he was careful with it. Then I encouraged him to take up a sport and since I'm a martial artist I suggested that he had a good frame for Judo and he took my suggestion and now loves Judo. I wanted to suggest this to get him out of the house and to make exercise more fun than a challenge. Then he said he wanted to get all muscular and lose weight to look good for me and that's when I started to worry. So I tried to steer him away from doing that and maybe just getting fit for him though he got a bit upset any time he couldn't finish a workout or didn't progress or lose weight as much as he wants and gets depressed about it. Kinda' trying to move him away from this as it's going to cause massive self esteem issues if it got worse. So I'm trying to move him away from typical sets/reps and so on and to more fun things..
  13. Well I found a new place to shop. It's a health food store, quite small in the city which is a short train ride away. Not only does it sell Asian food like noddles, tofu, tempeh but it also sells vegan stuff along with vegan spreadable chocolate! (I think I may have to ignore that..) Also, on the other side of the store they sell hemp protein, creotein and general fitness/bodybuilding stuff. Do you have these types of stores in the rest of the world or are they all chain things?
  14. I love 'roo's and have studied them for a bit. Apart from the natural leg muscle they gain a lot of upper body muscle (especially the dominant ones) from fighting.
  15. Well if you guys didn't know I am bisexual and I just so happen to be dating a guy and we have been going out for two years, so gives a little context for this. Soon (hopefully) the UK is going to allow gay marriage. Now what that means is that a gay couple will have the same rights as everyone else given to them by the state, so the church doesn't need to get involved. Anyway in the UK the church does not say weather you are married or not, they hold the ceremony but the government has to approve things and give out the rights, so the idea of marriage has had little to do with the church for a long while. Now that last thing is for the queen to give her blessing to the passing of the paper, she does have final veto on all government decisions but if she does veto it I see a lot of hate coming her way. On the notion of hate. Anti gay/lesbian hate grimes are on the up and up it seems, especially in London. The majority of people interviewed in some areas say that they think homosexuality is either bad or that gay and lesbian people should die for it. Now there are a lot of things I don't agree with in the world and killing someone for doing something you don't like is one of them. It astounds me that we're in the 21st century and hate crimes are still being committed. The amount of crimes has gone up and a lot of statistics organizations believe that it should be even higher as gay people aren't reporting crimes due to the fact that they don't believe that the police will do anything about it.
  16. Still relentless for me.. Hasn't changed much... Okay vegan bean burgers but they aren't as bad..

  18. Well I've been working out for a long while, I went from 250lbs to 175/7 lbs and from a 42 inch waist to a 32 inch waist. A long while ago (about a year or more) my boyfriend saw the photos of me and said that he would like to get into fitness. I said "sure" and that I would help him all the way though he doesn't listen to me at all. He works out with weights at home, jogs and does Judo twice a week. He's not a vegan but he only eats fish now and some odd milk.. The biggest problem I have is that he obsesses about his weight. He wont recognize any progress he makes despite what the scales say. He's been at 13 stone (182lbs) for a while and he's 5'7 though he doesn't look fat at all. I keep trying to tell him that the scales don't matter so much.. But he wont listen to me at all. No matter what I say he just keeps obsessing about his weight. I've tried to tell him that he'll be putting muscle on and all the other stuff but again, he wont listen. Is there anything else I can do? Because right now I feel like I'm about to give up.
  19. I would like a blogging system on the site allowing people to keep better records and stuff. That's just me though
  20. I've soo been neglecting this.. Just been really busy and I have a mind that can only store a handful of things in it.. Anyway, I got a white cane for walking, should help me not fall over in the street and hurt myself so much.. Also I swap my routine around every few months to keep myself interested in what I'm doing. Here is what I'm currently doing Monday Pecs Incline Barbell Bench Press 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Pecs Flat Barbell Bench Press 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Pecs Dip 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Pecs Barbell Pullover 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Running: 20 minutes Tuesday Quads Barbell Squats 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Quads Front Barbell Squat 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Quads Sumo Deadlift 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Hamstrings Barbell Stiff-Legged Deadlift 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Running 20 minutes Thursday Delts Barbell Military Press 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Delts Barbell Upright Row 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Delts Barbell Clean and Press 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Running: 20 minutes Friday Lats Pull-up 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Lats Bent-Over Barbell Row 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Lower Back Barbell Deadlift 15, 8, 8, 6 60-90 sec Running: 20 minutes Add on Wing Chun and Kendo classes that's a lot of activity. I had to give up riding a bike for the reasons at the top of this post. Eating wise, I cracked how to cook shallow fried Tofu though I still prefer Tempeh.. Though I usually drink vegetable/fruit juice for one day, eat normally the next day.. Currently 6 foot, 178 lbs and since it's summer in the UK I'm sweating like a pig.
  21. http://a0.vsoh.com/1348733439581.jpg Yea.. That
  22. Wow this is a bit an old thread Basically I'm disabled and I can't drive, can't ride a bike and walking on ice is a real pain for me.
  23. Meh, I'm just about to finish one more year of Uni (mature student) and as of the past few months I can't seem to muster any energy to do anything but play games. Seems I've lost enthusiasm for anything other than sitting at the computer No Wing Chun, No Kendo and barely go to the gym..
