  1. Doesn't fruit make you more hungry craving more
  2. Just curious has anybody messed up their metabolism from bulking. Female trying to gain weight due to amenorrhea (no period). Eating lots grains, fats and fruit for extra cals. Doing lots of strength training with little cardio. In a month gained about 6 pounds. Seems high. Lately, it seems like every day I gain another pound My question is when I eventually regain period and want to start doing cardio and eating less due to rapid weight gain will my metabolism be out of whack. Also does your body start craving a lot of foods and want to take in the extra cals similar to bulking diet when cutting
  3. Hi Zach, Most grains are good. You can mix grains together millet, spelt, kamut, barley, amaranth, buckwheat, oats, sprouted quinoa, reg quinoa,
  4. C.O. Nuts.com nuts are so fresh and taste so good. worth the price
  5. Hi Mythil, I think I would fall in the obsession category. I do eat but try to stick to quality foods. There is so much info and opinions about food which started to play with my way of thinking. I was vegetarian for the animals but became vegan because I read about the hormones in dairy and how it could make allergies worse. If I read or watch from a credible source like a vegan RD or diet regarding diets, I take note. It is hard to explain
  6. Does anybody find health forums like these could lead to a health food addiction. many people post their diets and exercise routine to obtain the perfect sculpted look especially those that compete or looking to compete.
  7. Since this is basically a healthy vegan forum -- does anybody think they have a healthy eating obsession. I'm guessing the majority of people posting and reading this forum understand what is in the foods and how certain foods, toxins, sweeteners, preservatives or process foods could lead to future health problems or unhealthy weight gain. Ever since I became a vegan, I read a bunch of books, watched a bunch of videos, and read a bunch of articles which lead to an obsessive healthy eating pattern. I wouldn't think it is a bad thing but find it hard to explain to friends and family why I wont eat a bunch of foods. It can take control of your life being too healthy when it comes to healthy foods for vegans
  8. nuts.com Try their organic raw pistachios . very addicting
  9. hi gaia, b12 and iron came back fine. use to have iron problem. eat lots of greens such as kale and broccoli and pumpkin seeds which I noticed is on the estrogen block list. vegan is suppose to be healthy but yet vegans have trouble with iron,b12,d, etc
  10. Too bad this forum doesn't have a section for females should topics like no periods come up. Anyway has anybody that ever experience low estrogen/vit D due to no period, how does your body feel after during and after workouts? Lately Ialways feel overt rained. Getting through a workout gets harder and harder. Also the next day my body is sluggish and sore. Can anybody relate.
  11. gaia and jungle great blogs. very interesting to see your progress
  12. Gaia, jungle, veghead -- I'm curious to see your daily diet and exercise routine since you compete. I want to get some ideas. I want to play around with my diet to see if I can gain some healthy weight to get period back thanks all
  13. Hi Veghead, Where can I buy those vit D pills online. It looks like it isn't sold in the US
  14. Just saw this website foods that block estrogen.Do you think if one's diet is high in the estrogen blocking food, a period can stop http://www.holisticonline.com/Remedies/hrt/hrt_food_and_estrogen.htm
  15. Veghead, Would you happen to know which vitamin D is vegan. D2 or D3 and which brand do you prefer. Gaia, Thank you so much for your feedback. It is good to know that others on this board has experience similar problems.
  16. I have very low vit D. Taking vits to up that. Do you think once vit D comes back to normal the period will return. Thanks everybody for your advice and experiences. So helpful
  17. Hi Gaia, Have you ever experience having no period from low body fat due to eating clean and exercise. Does a lot of vegan females that strength train experience this. Females should at least have 20% body fat to menstruate. My guess is most vegan females into fitness and diet have less than 20% since most of the diet are grains, fruits, seeds, beans, veggies, and nuts.
  18. I was told to cut back on exercise to see if period returns. Low estrogen can eventually break down the bones. It just stinks that limited exercise and more eating will probably ruin all the hard work to get that muscle def. Soon no more muscle def but a period. Maybe health and exercise needs to be redefine for women.
  19. according to those bf scales it is around 14-15. I'm sure it could be lower if measured with calipers
  20. For anybody that recovered from low estrogen by regaining body fat, can you provide a sample vegan diet. Also when the scale started to go up fast, did you start to freak out. I like the muscle tone look and I'm worried that eating a cal surplus with min cardio will make me look soft. No wonder why people develop eating disorders.
  21. I thought soy was bad for thyroid. I been eating lots of fats to get estrogen up to regain period -- no luck. Jungle -- How do you get your body fat up to get period back after competing
  22. Question for the women still in the child bearing years. Have any of you had any issues with low body fat on vegan diet causing you to lose your period. Been a vegan for close to 2 years. Always had a regular period. Lost a ton of weight from vegan diet. periods stopped and estrogen levels became really low due to losing body fat. Workouts are mostly 5 or 6 days weight training for about an hr with maybe one or two days HIIT cardio training. Diet is strictly vegan. grains, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies
