Hey Dylan, Sorry I didnt see this until now, I have been away for the holidays. I go to planet fitness on Myrtle-Wycoff I have a blackcard membership though which allows me to bring a guest anytime I go. I made myself a promise that I wouldnt eat out or drink for the next month to kickstart my fitness routine. What kind of workouts do you enjoy doing? Journal Update: Welp....I think i workouts for 4 days of the 30 days I had intended. Which is an uptick from the previous month. I have taken the time to look at some workout plans that incorporate weights for a full body work out a few times a week. I want to incorporate this into my climbing schedule. I plan on being in a competition in Cleveland in August in the intermediate climbing range and want to be in the best shape I can be. So hopefully as of next week Ill be on track to do just that. -
I have come to the conclusion, by way of clothing not fitting, that i have gained a lot of weight. Not the bulky weight of weight lifting but the gnarled gristle of too much vegan pizza and beer. Towards this end I thought I would create this journal to track my 30 days of exercise before my 32nd birthday. I told myself that i wanted to be active for 5 out of 7 days a week. This will be with 45 minutes - 1 hour of cardio and on days I am not doing that, by rock climbing. After this goal is completed i will re-assess my goals and most likely add bodybuilding back into my repertoire. Current weight 183lbs. Fighting weight usually around 165-173 lbs. Ill add measurements tomorrow after i buy a tape measure.

Alright, so Ive always done weight loss challenges and workout challenges on this forum, but Ive gone for very specific goals of agility and overall ability to have great endurance for rock climbing. After coming home from what can only be described as steroids California this year i decided its time to get myself into actual impressive looking shape. You can follow this link to see my progress since joining VBB a few years back. viewtopic.php?f=48&t=11139&start=30#p242969 I don't have my before picture online anymore that shows me at 275lbs. The link will take you to when i decided to start exercising in general. I tend to have a really boring workout routine that breaks down to a 3 times a week workout routine, that im semi good at keeping on track for a month then fall off 3 chest exercises vs 3 back exercises, 8-12reps x 3 set. 2 bicep exercise, 2 triceps exercises, 2 shoulder exorcizes, 8-12 reps x 3 reps 2 front leg exercises, 2 back leg exercises calves, 8-12 reps x 3 sets (i tend to slough on leg days the most and do cardio or something else like not go to the gym.) I need help setting up an exercise regiment that will allow me to rock climb 1-2 times a week and workout 3 days a week. problem areas: I do many push types of exercise instead of a good combo of pull exercises. I tend to give up on an exercise a few reps before fail. When i am working out with weights i tend to avoid cardio all together. When i am working out with cardio i tend to avoid weights all together. When i work out i tend to eat much much more without doing cardio and so i gain muscle well and fat really well. Strength im able to move (12x3): bench presses: 35-40lb each hand dumbbell fly's: 20-25lbs each hand lat pull downs:70-85lbs one arm rows:35-45lbs triceps moves:10-15 lbs biceps: 40-55lbs legs front : 90-110lbs legs back: 55-85lbs single calve raises: 25-35lbs Occasional Situps/ V-ups Do you think anyone could help me devise a muscle building workout plan? My current shape status is that i am: 6 feet tall 176lbs fat percentage is medium/high currently I can do exact measurements and photos if it will help as well.

Petitpois: I've not really designed a meal plan as of yet, I'm just getting back into the basics then for super training mode in about a month. Robert: thanks buddy! Gaia: I'll start the blog at the beginning of this week. I am currently at the heaviest I've been in some time so it's perfect timing. Just in time to lose some fat before the holidays! -
Ive flirted with fitness going back and forth on what i thought would be acceptable. Everything ranging from purely rock climbing, to body weight to lifting weights. Ive found a lot of great advice and shrugged off a lot of my preconceived notions on exercise. I am turning 30 and as a gift to myself i thought i would try for the very first time to be consistent with a weight training regiment. This is when i first joined the site (161 lbs): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v471/phillipeb/021808/Picture133.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v471/phillipeb/032908/Picture246.jpg This was after embarking on my first program that Lean and Green helped me work through (171 lbs). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v471/phillipeb/Picture216.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v471/phillipeb/rj%20fitness%20challenge%20062208/Picture119.jpg This was last year after being inactive for a year, no rock climbing but i still maintained a decent shape (180 lbs) http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4116/4930596852_5f0bf72565_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4073/4930007261_ee73a3abd4_b.jpg * Im wearing underwear in the picture but they are kinda small so i made digital boxers! I just started working out again on 11/22/2011 And its the start of the rest of my life. After this week ill post my daily workout as a training blog and update once a month my pictures! Wish me luck yawl.

Alright so starting my get back in shape kick i have done cardio two times so far this week. Today was the first day i have been able to do the eliptical for 45 minutes solid without my meniscus hurting. So i think im back in business. Which kinda clears me for my 5 days a week routine im starting next week. I will see how it goes until then. trying to do 45 minutes a day. My program is a 12 week program. It appears that there are 4 warm up exercises each day with 2 sets. and 8 major exercises with 4 sets. Then 30 minutes cardio. Looking forward to working hard. I told myself that i was done with excuses that i was just going to get myself in the best shape of my life. lets see if i can really do it. -

It has been some time since i have posted here. I got into a relationship, found myself super happy (still find myself super happy in love hahaha) however, i stopped climbing and working out regularly. Current stats that i know are that i am 178lbs about 8-10lbs of that is fat. I am starting a new 5 day routine on Monday 7/25 This week i am just doing cardio hoping to drop a lb or 2 and get closer to my ideal weight 175. I hope that this is the start of a super updated journal and plan that will help me get into the shape ive been thinking about for years. The plan is a 12 week muscle gaining plan. I will take my before start pictures on monday and update every 4 weeks to show my progress. My hope is that i loose 10lbs of fat and gain 5 lbs of muscle. I would like to be a solid 175lbs. -

Alright so its been over a year since ive updated this. I plan on keeping a journal. Phil -
So its been some time. I have stopped working out and then started. I have rock climbed a ton and then stopped. My body has gone through so much fluxuation. I am now more muscularly large but ive gained a large percentage of fat. I use to be able to lift half the weight i can now and i had worse endurance. I have just started a new workout program from a book and im doing mens roller derby and trying to climb where i can and when im not doing that do cardio but this is only one week of super active phil so i dont expect a body transformation for another two months of heavy lifting and cardio. Thanks everyone who has been with me on my journey i have learned so much. Edit: do to member complaints about my apparently scandillouly small cartoon gecko underpants i have made myself some digital square cuts. i rather think there fetching. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4116/4930596852_5f0bf72565_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4073/4930007261_ee73a3abd4_b.jpg

It was great meeting you Robert in Salt Lake City! i really appreciated the speech you gave at the thanksgiving fundraiser! I am in a transitory phase and the words you expressed has helped to redefined some of my goals. Good luck in LA, i use to live in San Diego, and it was the most great, terrifying positive and negative experience of my life, the type of experience that all others are judged by. I hope that your journey brings you nothing but positivity allowing you to achieve your goals. -
Its good to be back. I love this community. I still live in slc and i will be at vegan vacations with my roommate. She became a vegan after meeting me so this is her first vegan thanksgiving! (she was a vegetarian before) Maybe you me and crystal can get a workout in when your in town? P.s. congratulations on completing that vegan bodybuilding book. its on my list of books to purchase when i get paid.
