  1. I get so confused on what is right and what is not when it concerns weight lifting for women. I am trying to lose this last little bit of weight and get my body fat down. I am currently 24%. I am trying to get down to 19%. I love to workout and do a lot of Gfit( golds gym version of crossfit without olympic weight lifting). I also love to lift weights and heard that it helps to burn more fat when you build more muscle. My question is, is it better to lift heavier weights with less reps. or lighter weights with more reps. to lose weight? Thanks, Kathy
  2. Thankyou so much for your help. I was feeling confused and lost. I feel much better. I actually hate calorie counting. And when I did Mcdougall program I didn't do any calorie counting whatsoever. I just listened to my body and ate the right foods. I think I will do that now as well and not be so afraid of fruit and healthy starches. Every time I calorie count I get obsessive about it. I just need to stick with this way of eating and my training. Thanks again. Kathy
  3. I started bodybuilding in December, but added Crossfit and HIIT and running until 3-4 months ago. What do you mean by lean carbs? I have been vegan for a long time and I did do Mcdougall program and lost 55 lbs. But then my weight stalled. I have about 10 lbs. left to lose. Although I am not keeping near as track on lbs. since I am building muscle but I got my body fat measured and I measured at 25% and that was about 4 wks ago. I noticed when I started really getting into my workouts and bodybuilding that I became very tired in the afternoon and my mom said to try more protein. So I did and I automatically felt better. So I know with my workouts I need to keep up my protein. But I don't want to become a carb phobia person either. Thanks for your help. Kathy

I have been trying to stick to 1500 cal. but I find I eat closer to 1600-1700 easily. 5. I have lost over 55 lbs. But seem to be stuck with the last little bit. I am trying not to count on the number on the scale, because I know it is not quite accurate. I do body building trying to lift heavier weights 4 days a week. I throw in 3 crossfit workouts a week and I do cardio anywhere from 30-55 min. a day. I usually burn around 500-600 cal. on most days. I workout 6 days a week. My problem is I still have this fat around my middle. I am a 43 yr. old female, I am 5'7 and weigh 145lbs. I am really struggling with how to lose the rest. I usually eat around 1400-1500 cal. a day. I am trying to up my protein as well. I would love to build more muscle, but also lean out. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks, Kathy
