  1. Photo in August during Vegan Vacation. I'm in the middle with orange shorts. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v389/vegancrystal/Portland/IMG_4653.jpg Photos from October 9th, after training with Robert since early September. I'll try to find better "before" photos to more accurately show progess: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/VeganBodybuilder/Dave1-1.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/VeganBodybuilder/Dave2.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/VeganBodybuilder/Dave3.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/VeganBodybuilder/Dave4.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/VeganBodybuilder/Dave5.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/VeganBodybuilder/Dave6.jpg Are you ready for a back attack? 2. Does anyone from Vegan Vacation have a half way decent digital picture of me to use for my profile?
  3. I'm glad everyone had a good time. I hope we can do it again next year. I'm just sad that Alex didn't realize the Vega was free until the last day . However, there is one problem with Vegan Vacation: I got too accustomed to being surrounded by Vegan food. Last night at a picnic a girl offered me half of her sandwich and I just said thanks and took a bite--don't know what I was thinking--I forgot that everyone else isn't vegan. The second I tasted the Turkey and Mayo I thought "Oh crap, what the h-ll am I doing. That was stupid." and I spit it out. But this does mean I was undoubtedly tainted with several molecules of Mayo. Well....Robert is coming back from DC tonight, so hopefully I can repent and accept punishment from him. I'm thinking it will involve a double axe-handle off the top rope and a DDT.
  4. I just throw the quinoa in a pot and cook it. Is it bad to not wash it first? am I totally f---ing myself up?
  5. Cool. I'm trying to do the same thing, but I'm only on day 6. I've noticed many of the same changes.
  6. Isn't creatine an animal product? don't they extract it from cows?
  7. So Robert and I were at a farmers market and we were checking out the juices available from local sources. We got the whole run-down on how Odwalla screwed up the raw-juice thing by making one REALLY bad batch of apple juice that kiled some people, so now all juice bought in stores MUST be pasturized. Robert and I decided that making our own orange juice would be cheaper and healthier. Any suggestions on what would be the best juicing mechanism to buy?
  8. Bigbwii: I've been vegan - mostly raw food - for about a week now. I know what you are talking about - farting, gas, and a little headache, although I already feel like I have a lot more energy and don't get tired during the day. I think my detoxing is a bit more mild than usual. Mainly it's just really stinky farts and diarehha. But I feel great. It was interesting to read your posting.
  9. Is there an easy way to tell if the juice you are buying is not cooked, pasturized, etc. and thus stripped of a lot of nutrients?
  10. I was reading Thrive and there was a recipe for a shake where Brendan Brazier specifically says to use an actual orange rather than orange juice. Does buying orange juice or apple juice from the store (even if it is pretty fresh like odwalla) in some way reduce the nutritional value of the food from its natural form? I wouldn't think so, but I was wondering if anyone had an comments.
  11. so are the few foods that become healthier when you cook them rather than eating them raw?
  12. Yeah, all that food is great, but it doesn't matter to me since I'm a raw foods vegan. The good news is that I'm, like, 4 million times healthier than you are.
  13. I've started to go bald too. Would it help prevent balding if I was a vegan?
  14. Someone out there must agree with me....No?
  15. I, for one, can't stand the picture that Robert uses for his profile. He looks like some idiot from a boy band getting his picture taken to make a poster for highschool girls. I cringe everytime I see him with that stupid, tilted head, pseudo-sensitive look on his face. Actually, change that to middle school girls. I mean, he sitting on a swing in a park for crying out loud. Please, everyone support me in convincing Robert to change that picture.
  16. don't worry about it. I was kidding anyway. I mean--Robert was able to grow that awful mustache a while back, right....
  17. This is my first question on the forum, and I hope Robert can answer it. Here's a question: Hair is made of protein, and vegans don't get enough protein because they don't eat meat, so how do vegans grow hair--or do you just go bald shortly after going vegan.
