  1. Will be difficult to find vegan friendly, amino acid, supplements in caplet form. They'll contain gelatin. I'm fairly new to the vegetable based diet. So too early to give you my own experience. But I did a lot of research before committing to this dietary change. Hemp based products have great nutritional benefits and seems popular among the ones in the know. I come across this guy Derek Tresize(professional body builder), who is vegan. He has said he consumes about 250g protien from food sources. Maybe try to find some information on his diet. It seems protien supplementation is not necessary for most.

  2. They almost certainly are not vegan friendly. Foods like that contain shellac. Which is taken from the lack bug. If I remember correctly, it is feces from the the lack bug, which makes up the main ingredient in the shiny, colourful shells. I normally use http://nutritiondata.self.com for nutritional information. If it's not on there, should be an easy one to calculate. 4 calories per gram of protien, 4 calories per gram of carbohydrate, 5 calories per gram of fat. What is the main ingredient (the stuff under the shell)?

  3. Okay, great. Do you use any dietary supplements, ie vitamins, minerals, protein, creatine? I've been doing a bit of research and it seems most sources say we need about 3 grams of creatine per day. Yet our bodys are only capable of synthesising 1 gram per day. If I've understood correctly we need to maintain this level of creatine, to keep our Adenosine Triphosphate levels up. ATP being an essential component of an athletic lifestyle. Should I invest in some creatine supplements? What works for you?

  4. Hello there! Advice needed. Due to a recent surgery, I have lost a large percentage of my lean mass. Since then I have chosen to become vegan. I'm curious to see if any of you have gained considerable lean mass after becoming vegan, or if you gained your mass before the diet change. I want to stay vegan and would prefer to not have to supplement my diet. Is this possible? Can I gain 20lbs of lean mass, within the year? Any information or advice you provide, would be greatly appreciated.
