  1. I'm not sure. I adopted him from the pound when he was only 7 weeks old. He has very long legs, whatever he is.
  2. My pup, Chester. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8093/8522379797_926f9c9a35_b.jpg
  3. It doesn't really matter. For the amount of food I eat, having three meals would mean three huge meals and I would find it a chore to eat, so I spread it out over six throughout the day. On the other hand some people find it annoying having to eat six or seven times a day.. Up to you really.
  4. On the youtube page, there is a "share" link under the video. Click that, then underneath click on options and choose "long link". That's the link you need to use on the forum. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v52/essjayyell/Picture1-2.png
  5. The link should be a short link, like this - In the link you posted, remove the & symbol and everything after it, so it's like this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=zFXczzxWwRU http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=zFXczzxWwRU (no spaces)
  6. I've always been quiet, but popular for some reason. I'm always the most shy person among a usually noisy and popular group I guess. I was never good with girls. I got a bit of attention but I think I was just oblivious to all of that or didn't care until after high school because I was too busy skating every afternoon and having fun. I didn't try alcohol until I was 17. First real girlfriend was when I was 21. Looking back at old school report cards, the comments from the teachers are always along the lines of "Sam is a quiet, hard working student, who is often distracted by others".

  8. Hi, have a look here https://www.strengthshop.co.uk/clothing/lifting-shoes.html
  9. I keep coming back here to look at that photo. My gosh what a beast.
  10. Squats are the right thing for everyone who is physically able to do them. Calories consumed Vs calories burned is what determines whether you lose or gain weight, but you can't choose where you lose fat from I'm afraid. Use this to work out how many calories you need to consume in order to lose weight - http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm Keep the protein high and do weights if you want to keep your muscle. Those are the basics.
  11. Derek is one of my favourite strongmen, and has a great personality too. Thanks for posting that. What a machine!
  12. Monday - Military Press, close grip bench and assistance for upper back and tri's Tuesday - Deadlift, front squat and assistance for glutes/hams. Thursday - Bench and assistance for upper back and tri's Friday - Squat, straight led deadlift and assistance for glutes/hams.
  13. If you want something purely for squatting, or for when/if you ever do the Olympic lifts, try these - https://www.strengthshop.co.uk/clothing/lifting-shoes/strength-shop-lions-weightlifting-shoes.html If you want something you can wear for squatting, deadlifting, or anything else really, pick any synthetic skate shoe. They always have a thick, solid, flat sole and good grip.
  14. There's a few ways to do 5 x 5. One way is to do a couple of warm up sets and then do 5 x 5 with the same weight. Another way is to warm up and then do 5 x 5 with the weights increasing each set. Another way might be two warm up sets, followed by 3 x 5 with the same weight. Sets of 5 reps with squats are more tiring for me than say, sets of 5 with bench or overhead press, and I would say more tiring than sets of 5 deadlifts, especially when going heavy.
  15. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v52/essjayyell/10to11.jpg Photo from today - 109 kg / 240 lbs. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v52/essjayyell/Photo1-3.jpg
  16. I'm not the biggest, nor the strongest, but all of the weight and strength I've gained was gained as a vegan. I started lifting around the same time I went vegan. I went from 70-ish kg to 110 kg in four years. My body fat has remained about the same, if not reduced, although I can only judge by how I look & feel.
  17. Hmm tricky one. All I can think of is different kinds of beans, chickpeas and lentils as you mentioned and the many different types of nuts.
  18. Dr Martens make vegan 8-eye boots and 3-eye shoes, both in black or cherry. The boots are $125 and the shoes are $115 US. I bought some of the black boots and they are very nice.
