  7. Yeah I bought some squat/bench stands, a flat bench, Olympic barbell & 190 kg of plates a while ago & used it for a few months. In the end I found that I preferred to train in a gym so I sold it all.

That's The Plan anyway. I'm very happy with how things went today. I'll post the videos of the squat & bench soon.

  11. Well the 21st is a week from now. I've already deadlifted 210 kg and I plan to squat at least 190 kg some time in the next week. I did 3 x 170 recently so I think I'm on track for 190 at least. I think 200 would be pushing it, unless I used wraps.
  12. Hey, I'm going well. Eating lots of bananas at the moment because they're really cheap. No injuries apart from a bruised and painful toe. I kicked the leg of one of our chairs really hard as I was walking in the dark..

  15. Just as an example of a way to get some really easy and tasty extra calories, I have two PB&J sandwiches almost every day. With the particular bread that I use and 2 tbsp of peanut butter on each sandwich I get 40g protein and 990 calories.

  18. The table is about your one rep max, but if you haven't tested it it's fine to list weights that you can lift for reps. I don't see the point in lying about the weights you've lifted. Why would anyone lie and say they can squat 200 when you could say you can squat 500? It's always cool to see videos of weight lifting though. You should post some of yourself if you have some. As for your bodybuilder friends; well, I can only assume that their focus is bodybuilding and not strength training. Plenty of strong people don't look as strong as they are and plenty of huge bodybuilders are not as strong as they look. For example, there's a guy in my gym who weighs around 125-130 lbs and can deadlift 585 and there are guys who are massive and ripped who I've seen struggle with a 225 lb deadlift.
  19. 09/03 High volume squat day. Although the most reps I did in a set was 5, I did 18 sets all up. I'm going to be sore tomorrow. I have heard volume works wonders for improving your squat max, so we'll see pretty soon. I did 170 for 3 reps last week and that's definitely an improvement. I'll probably max out next week some time.   20. In the last week we had three toxicology patients on our ward. All of them were young women who tried to commit suicide by swallowing a load of over-the-counter medications. It's shocking. There's this thing called Therapeutic Index. Look that up. If you swallow 40 Paracetamol & 40 Ibuprofen pills, like one of my patients did the other day, you're going to run into some problems... Absolutely. People generally turn to medicine when they're sick or injured. It's a bit of a no-brainer. These days if you're in hospital it's because you're very very sick or badly injured. There's a shortage of beds and staff everywhere. From the minute a patient is admitted to hospital, we are already preparing for their discharge. Just out of interest, when you see one of these healthy people jogging or walking in the street, do you then follow them for the entire day, or perhaps week, just to make sure they are not visiting the pharmacy to buy some medicine?
