  2. I thought that someone might be interested to hear how I am doing so here are some facts and thoughts. I just broke another milestone: I have now spent more than 100 000 EUR (130 000 USD) to various stuff for my company, mainly to products obviously. In case you haven't read the whole thread, I started having nothing and opened the business on January 2010. I will very likely have more than 1500 orders this year and the sales will be around 100 000 EUR as well. Something negative as well: I've now worked full days for the whole year having only 1 week vacation (which I spent in Vegan Fitness Week in Germany) and I haven't paid myself a dime in salaries yet. I've managed to pay back a lot of my debts so the year has been profitable anyway, don't worry! I work the evenings in other jobs and so that I can pay for my living since I don't get any help or social security (small scale entrepreneurs are the ones who get kicked in the face by the government here). Also, I've bought 50 % shares of a limited company which is starting to import high quality food from China and it will be a great help in creating a succesful business. Another downside has been that I haven't been able to work out as much as I would have wanted but I've kept myself in decent shape. I have to be in shape in order to represent vegan lifestyle as a healthy option!

One of the best raw vegan muscles I've seen. Most of the others should eat a lot more. They are hella skinny! Well, maybe 5 others are in very nice shape but there are many people who look like they're starving in that thread.

I took this photo in Vegan Fitness Week on August. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk250/tuc_finland/VBB/27082010344.jpg I think at that point Devil's Plaything looked huge and I would have expected him to be even bigger in competition. Anyway, it's a great thing that people do things like this and this is a huge inspiration for me!
  6. My sister's son is a vegan since birth. Actually I think he has had something like 5 times something which has had cow milk in his life (in hospital right after being born by accident or something like that). No problems whatsoever and he's already spelling letters really well at the age of 1 year 7 months. Effin smart child. And super cute.

  9. L Carnitine should be useless if you use beta alanine since it does the same thing without the need to process the amino acids in between. If I'm mixing things up, please correct me but this is how I remember how it goes.
  10. Not useless but not worth their cost. You'll get a lot better results if you spend the same money in Vega or bulk protein powders.
  11. Just came to back up what jcdenton said. Pretty much nothing to add. However, if you're using the load technique, remember to drink lots of fluids while consuming 20-25g per day.

  14. In my opinion 250g protein is needed only if you are 300 LBS roid monster (= pro bodybuilder). Someone around 200 lbs should be fine with ~ 100-150g protein and all above that goes to waist instead of muscles. BTW, I don't think 1 litre of soymilk is even that much. It's just 30g of protein. I can drink that in one minute for a snack.

  17. Yeah, well, Zack, not that much to read. Luckily I haven't been as lasy when it comes to training compared to writing about it. I am getting some strength back and I already took 12 reps @ 155lbs easily in bench press. Deadlifts and squats still suck big time but at least I got my legs totally demolished while doing squats. Hope they will recover by next week since I'm going to Germany to see the big vegan guys from all around the world. My usual workouts now have been quite simple. Just bench press, overhead press and bicep curls, or stuff like squats and deadlifts and bent-over rows. As soon as the weights are again somewhere worth mentioning, I will start writing detailed stuff since it helps me to track the progress.

I agree on the fact that different types of protein powders do not have that big differences between each other but it has been scientifically proven many many times that protein supplements as well as creatine and beta alanine actually make your training easier and they make your results go up faster. Most supplements are overpriced garbage (If there are lots of techno words, leave the item in the shelf!) but I have to back up Robert here. Vega has one god damn good product line with all natural stuff. Many of the products also taste great and they make you feel great.
  21. A light training should be fine but you shouldn't work out hard if the muscles are still sore. The idea is to stimulate muscles, not annihilate them. You can a) rip your muscles if they're still sore and b) you can get them infected which will halt the progress for weeks - so take it easy!
  22. It is about eating only meat for a year. And if they eat something non-meat, the one who "fails" first pays 500 euros to the other. Sounds like Darwin Awards ceremony prelude.
