  2. hey everyone... not new to the forum. I just haven't posted in a while. I have a question about my boyfriend. He is an omnivore, but interested in vegetarianism. He is 5'10" and only 123 pounds... so yes he is definetly underweight. I would like to introduce him slowly to veg options without pushing him to fast. I also would like to find HEALTHY veg and vegan foods that will both ease him into vegism and help him gain weight. Any suggestions for him would be greatly appreciated since I am worried about him. I need to lose weight and he needs to gain... opposite problems. If i coould him my extra pounds I would lol!
  3. It is february 2007 I am currently 164 at last weighing I think i can lose more tho, so we will have to see... still hoping for between 140-150 for my goal weight!
  4. I have lost 5 pounds since I started this thread... quite a while ago. I wish I had lost more. My new years resolution is to lose more. I hope to get down to my goal weight before my braces come off!!! I have another 20 pounds to go. I have found I like pilates and Wii boxing lol. I don't know if the Wii boxing will help, but hey can't hurt right? Pilates is fun but I can't handle doing it everyday. I am going to try to start doing it 3 times a week again. I find I lose weight better if I don't stress about it and stick to a routine Well wish me luck! I am also going to try to eat better. Tough around the holidays... I also want to experiment with multi cultural foods more but control my portions.
  5. thank you so much! My height is 5'7". My ideal calorie intake would be 1500? Is that correct? I will check out those books if I can find them. If not maybe I get get the store to get a copy in for me or buy online. Walking would be a good idea. I am doing the Walk for Animals for MSPCA on Sept 10th. Maybe I can shed some weight my then. I also have a metal DDR pad, It is in my room which gets pretty hot in the summer. I will probably do that a lot more when the snow comes lol. Any advice for the female problem areas? I have a feeling they will be a challenge Some of the foods I like: Hummus Beans Wraps (filled with hummus and fresh veggies/ beans w rice) salads fresh fruit, apples and grapefruit dark greens, romaine, kale spanish rice with onions ans pigeon peas egglant baba ganoush indian and lebanese foods veggie burgers tofu are these good foods to continue? are there any new foods I should introduce? I will share my progress with the forum and hope to help others as well. Thanks again. If anyone else has anything to share I appreciate it greatly.
  6. Hey everyone. I'm not a body builder. I am overweight. I don't want to get all bulked up. (I don't like that look on women) I do want to lose about 25 pounds and tone my body. I want slim down without building bulk. I am currently 175 pounds and want to be 150. I don't know what my percentage of body fat is. Here are some pics of me taken a couple weeks ago. My hair is shorter but my weight is the same. A more recent picture of me with my haircut. I'm the same weight as in the other ones. I want to know if anyone can help me with a diet and excersise plan. I can't afford to join a gym. I need to know how many calories I should eat etc. Also does anyone know a good site for the calorie content in foods? I don't want to be obsessive about it. I just want a basic idea, to help me out! This is really embarassing for me I just wanted to be honest, so that people could help me. Please offer any suggestions and support you can. Thank you!

  9. I've heard it is good for isolating ab muscles. I would like to try it as well. I dont know where lessons are offered in my area. Maybe I will get a dvd. I have seen a belly dancer perform and they really shake their body so i don't see why that wouldnt be a good workout.

  13. Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum. I have been vegan for 2 years. I have been vegetarian a total of 4 years. I am not a total athelete, but i could use some support losing weight and getting into shape. what better place than here. I am the first to admit i'm about 25 pounds overweight... so i need the help lol. My interests include veganism, Wicca, volunteering at an animal shelter, my 2 handsome boys (my cats!) and video games (I love DDR... but i'm not very good lol). I love to meet new vegans through myspace and hope i will make new friends here too!
