  1. Well, I'll be in LA on the 17th for sure. Maybe the 23rd, too.
  2. That's awesome! I'm actually in Cali as I type this. I don't have tickets to the event though. I'm in San Fran right now, and I'll be in LA in less than a week I think, but right now, the plan is that I'll only be there for a day, but there's the option for me to stay there longer or maybe head back to LA again even later in my trip.
  3. I'm going to be on vacation with my family in Cali on those dates, so I'll probably try and meet up with you guys for a day if possible.
  4. Wow, this guy came in 3rd? http://img356.imageshack.us/img356/7816/markusruhlpo8.jpg
  5. I'm getting back into lifting, so if you're ever in my area we could train.
  6. My girlfriend took these as a joke before/after: http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/Photo332.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/Photo329.jpg
  7. Wow, I didn't know some of that about Pearl (like the Sandow stuff). Congratz on the comp, Robert! You rule!
  8. Just various photos from the trip (more to come of Jimi, I still have to upload them)... http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/PhoenixAZ218.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/PhoenixAZ222.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/PhoenixAZ223.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/PhoenixAZ008.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/PhoenixAZ014.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/ABS.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/doublebi.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/Sidechest.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/Tris.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/bi.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/Most.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/PhoenixAZ140.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/Rob1.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/Rob3.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/Rob4.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/Rob5.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/Rob6.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/Rob7.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc147/InstruMentalCase/PhoenixAZ228.jpg
  9. He did great, and I think he should have been placed higher. Anyway, I'll post some more of my pics of the comp to The Documentary area of the forum.

  12. I just emailed VegNews to see if they'd be interested in publishing an article I'd write about the event / documentary. If they decline, I'll probably contact NaturalNews, since they have a citizen correspondent news section.
  13. I'm really lookin' forward to it too! Btw, I found this flyer online for $5 off the show: http://www.donrobinsonproductions.com/documents/2009/donposter_2009.pdf
  14. I live in Tomball as well, and my friend Ed (user "Odidnetne") lives around here, too.
  15. Ed Mason ("Odidnetne") and I just got our Greyhound bus tickets! We leave from Houston on Thursday the 23rd at 4:15pm and arrive in Phoenix on Friday at 1:50pm (local time)! It's basically a 23-24 hour-long bus ride though! But it'll be worth it to be there to support you guys.
  16. I just made some of these and they were great, so give em a shot if you're looking for some heavy but tasty pancakes! ____________ Ingredients 1 cup organic buckwheat flour 1/2 tablespoon organic sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 cup organic oat milk 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Lots of raspberries Cinnamon or cinnamon maple syrup Directions Set out all your ingredients. Set stove with a pan to medium heat. Grease pan with small amount of vegetable oil. Combine the four dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt) in a bowl. Add the oat milk and vegetable oil to your mixture. Mix until smooth. Add mashed raspberries (be careful not to mash them up too fine or you'll have a harder time tasting them). Add desired amount of cinnamon, or just serve the pancakes with cinnamon maple syrup (for that, put a cinnamon stick in your maple syrup container). Now the pan should be ready for your batter, so spoon one pancakes' worth of the mixture into the pan. Flip when you see bubbles in the middle of the pancake. Enjoy! ____________ By the way, if you use less batter and cook them a little longer, they're kinda like muffin tops. Big thanks to Ed (Odidnetne) for showing me how to make vegan pancakes, and Recipezaar.com for the finer points.
  17. Awww man, you're in the Woodlands? That's like 30 minutes away from me! Don't move! Texas needs more sane people!
  18. I'm home schooled / self-taught, so I can't earn a regular high school diploma very easily, but I just got done taking the GED tests and I'm pretty sure I'll pass with flying colors. College and adult life, here I come!
  19. It's a complex issue if you ask me. My advice would be to educate yourself as best you can in regards to nutrition, so that you can easily explain yourself to your concerned meat-eater friends should the topic again arise. After all, having your children eat vegan / vegetarian is certainly a huge step up from the "Happy Meal diet" most parents are raising their kids on these days. Having said that... should I ever have kids I doubt I will force them to eat strictly vegan / vegetarian. I mean, I probably wouldn't cook or keep meat and animal products in the kitchen, but should they choose to eat those things when they're out with friends or something, so be it. I'd never want to force a lifestyle onto my children like so many parents force their religious beliefs and such. I'd rather serve as a positive role model, instead of an overbearing parent. Kids need to learn to think for themselves, and learn from their own mistakes. I've seen vegan / vegetarian parents practically withhold their love and approval from their kids anytime the issue of eating animal products comes up. On top of that, veganism sometimes alienates children from their friends. I mean, if the kid is at a birthday party and they're serving non-vegan chocolate cake or something, just let the child try it if they want to. Most of us have certainly had our fair share of that kind of thing before. Perhaps then, awhile after the fact, the vegan parent could calmly discuss the matter with their child, and give a little more insight into things. Raised in an animal / environmentally conscious household, children will probably turn out just fine and make similar decisions for themselves when the time comes. And in that way, it'll be much more likely to stick and become a strong and positive aspect of the young person's identity - instead of it being forced onto them in some way (often through subtle manipulation).
  20. Recently I've had "Antonella's Birthday" stuck in my head: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_BG_A58TxM
