  1. Powered by Carrots - I have never tried switching back to the lighter weight for higher reps after having done a pyramid like that. I will definitely try it now. Thanks for the suggestion.
  2. Thanks again everyone. Yeah, I think I like the idea of switching up the reps that Lean and Green mentioned. This is more or less what I do anyway. For example, one exercise I might do with 3X10, another might be a pyramid, the third exercise 3X5, etc. And then I'll switch it up in the next workout or two. Lean and Green - not quite sure why I called you Robert when I thanked you in my earlier post. I think because I received the email from Robert saying I had a new post, and just quickly replied. Haha.
  3. Thanks for all of the great feedback! I do the overhead presses, and more or less do the front raises just for variety. I have done the increase in weight with decrease in rep thing before, and still do from time to time. I guess it was the LAST increase that had me unable to do the full range of motion, yet I could still feel stress on my shoulder so I wondered if it was helping on some level. But it makes sense when you said it was like a half rep. I like the advice about the wrist weights. I think I will invest in those. Thanks again.
  4. Recently I posted to see other opinions concerning whether it's worth it to increase the weight if you're able to do 12 reps with one weight, and only 5 reps with the increased weight. I was told that the 5 reps with the increased weight would be the best way to go, rather than doing 15 reps with the lower weight to build up strength... My second part of that question is this...let's say I'm doing dumbell front raises with a certain amount of weight (full range of motion) but after increasing weight, my range of motion is limited. Should I still increase? Thanks in advance.
  5. Here is an article I came across from a great self-help website with tips on how to become an early riser. It's been helpful to me, and the site overall has some pretty good stuff: http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/05/how-to-become-an-early-riser/
  6. GRardB - I am wondering why so many people feel like they can comment on your posture?! They need to chill and focus on themselves. I wouldn't let just let it roll off. Chances are, they are annoyed because they know you are working out and they aren't...so they're trying to take something away from you, or make you feel a little crappy about yourself so they can feel better about themselves. I could be wrong, but that's a possibility. Either way, you should determine the way YOU feel about your posture based on your own observations, not anyone else's. And if you have any concerns, I'd recommend looking into the Alexander Technique. You can find books on it at any local bookstore.
