  5. Hi all! I'll be living in Ottawa for 4 months starting in January. Who lives there or knows where it is nice to go eating?? I still don't have a place to live so if anyone is looking for a roommate let me know ^_^ Happy holidays!
  6. The yard, the dog and the food all look very good. I hope you are enjoying your days off
  7. I agree with all of those who say that as long as you are happy, it's all cool. The most important thing is that you feel good with whatever you are wearing. But if you are posting this, I assume that you are looking for a piece of advice as to how to look better. So here I go: - The pants could be more fitting. - The sleeves of the t-shirt are too long to put a sweater underneath it. - The neck of the sweater would look better if it didn't show too much. The neck of the t-shirt has a very different shape from the sweater; you might want to watch out for this as it looks better when they are kind of similar. - The sweater is too baggy to put a t-shirt on top of it. - The chain, the necklace and the glasses are all accesories with different styles and they don't click as much. The necklace is kinda hippie, the chain a bit punk and the glasses nerd. That doesn't match very well I'd keep the glasses. I think that when you're wearing accesories they all should be very discrete or wear only one if on the flashy side. Other than that I think that dark blues, and fall-like colors would look pretty cool on you. You have a nice combination of skin, hair and eyes color. (I'm not a fashion freak or anything, I just find men fashion much more interesting at times.)
  8. diddly the way I see it here is that those are their genes, if those girls you mention let themselves go off the road they can get fat. It is hard to make bf go to certain places at will, what you can do instead is to shape your muscles and don't keep yourself very defined. You might want to work hard on your glutes and legs so that they look "thick" and try to keep your abs strong but with not very high volume. That way it will loook firm but not big like a belly as you would be keeping some bf. Not to burst your bubbles but I've learnt that I can take my body wherever it is possible for it to go. For example I could never look like a ballet dancer, not my body type at all. There are certain types of physiques your body shape will allow you to attain and many of them will be very good looking but ask yourself if the "thick" look is something that your body will really allow. Analyze it carefully and think how would your quads look with more muscle volume plus a bit of bf, etc. All the best to you with this quest!
  9. The split program I'm doing now is for strength rather than volume but I've got some definition as well as volume out of it. It's 3 days long, then one day for a break and start again. I really like it even though the sessions are long. If I'm not well fed that day my performance goes down at the end but that doesn't happen very often 1) Chest, back, biceps, triceps 2) Shoulders and legs 3) Glutes, obliques and calves
  10. 25 lbs, for 4 sets of 15 reps. Yeah buddy! lol
  11. I'm cooking lentils and I can't wait for them to be done. They smell so gud!!!
  12. If that makes you feel better, go for it! When I was new at lifting weights I used to find funny the grunting thing, now that I understand why it happens, I find myself doing it. It's not something that I can control on my last 2 reps. Also I make that face too Lately I've found that a good Yeah Buddy works too, just for the fun of it. Perhaps if somebody says soemthing again you can always tell them that you're sorry that they're too sensitive but that you can't help it. Other than that I have a friend who snores really bad and when we go camping he brings new earplugs for everybody
  13. Yesterday I hadn't had time to eat anything but a little melon in the morning and was working out in the afternoon. I put two scoops of Vega on my water bottle and worked out. It was an awesome workout, I had energy all the way through and didn't feel tired afterwards. Perhaps somebody is going to tell me that what I did is very wrong, but it seems like it worked for me.
  14. Found it on Yahoo! News and couldn't help to think of many of you Link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20081023/sc_livescience/thestinkinfartscontrolsbloodpressure;_ylt=AowIGDA1iKCIdXHzSaMeF0GzvtEF A smelly rotten-egg gas in farts controls blood pressure in mice, a new study finds. The unpleasant aroma of the gas, called hydrogen sulfide (H2S), can be a little too familiar, as it is expelled by bacteria living in the human colon and eventually makes its way, well, out. The new research found that cells lining mice's blood vessels naturally make the gas and this action can help keep the rodents' blood pressure low by relaxing the blood vessels to prevent hypertension (high blood pressure). This gas is "no doubt" produced in cells lining human blood vessels too, the researchers said. "Now that we know hydrogen sulfide's role in regulating blood pressure, it may be possible to design drug therapies that enhance its formation as an alternative to the current methods of treatment for hypertension," said Johns Hopkins neuroscientist Solomon H. Snyder, M.D., a co-author of the study detailed in the Oct. 24th issue of the journal Science. Snyder and his colleagues compared normal mice to mice that were missing a gene for an enzyme known as CSE, long suspected as being responsible for making hydrogen sulfide. As they measured hydrogen sulfide levels taken from tissues of the CSE-deficient mice, the scientists found that the gas was depleted in the cardiovascular systems of the altered mice. By contrast, normal mice had higher levels of the gas, thereby showing that hydrogen sulfide is naturally made by mammalian tissues using CSE. Next, the mice were subjected to higher blood pressures comparable to serious hypertension in humans. Scientists had them respond to a chemical called methacholine that relaxes normal blood vessels. The blood vessels of the CSE-lacking mice hardly relaxed, indicating that hydrogen sulfide is a huge contender for regulating blood pressure. Hydrogen sulfide is the most recently discovered member of a family of gasotransmitters, small molecules inside our bodies with important physiological functions. This study is the first to reveal that the CSE enzyme that triggers hydrogen sulfide is activated itself in the same way as other enzymes when they trigger their respective gasotransmitter, such as a nitric oxide-forming enzyme that also regulates blood pressure, Dr. Snyder said. Because gasotransmitters are common in mammals all over the evolutionary tree, these findings on the importance of hydrogen sulfide are thought to have broad applications to human diseases, such as diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases. The research was supported by grants from the U.S. Public Health Service and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research as well as a Research Scientist Award.
  15. you rock! Now, I received a cute box of fair trade little chocolate thingies. I gave it away already to raise a bit of awareness and see if some people buy fair trade things for this Halloween. Also they were vegan. But I won't be giving candy out, I'll be at a party dressed up as a dandy.
  16. Well my English is not good at the kitchen because I don't cook much. It wasn't the oven, it was on the flames, on top of the oven... you know... those 4 things. Now I bought more lentils, I'm persistent! But the burnt lentils won't come out from the pan botton Happy thing: today I bought fair trade dark chocolate with almonds, new favorite vegan treat.
  17. Aww no wonder why I was happy last night because I cooked awesome lentils, but as I was eating I forgot to turn off the oven. The rest of my lentils burnt and I wasn't very happy camper anymore.
  18. I've had that problem for years on the outter side of my knee, it doesn't let me squat much or do decent laying leg curls. Unfortunately no doctor has been able to tell me what it is, if you go to one who knows please let me know. What I've done is during hard times is let the leg rest and when it's OK again I do very low weights and watch the technique very very carefully. I really hope you get well soon.
  19. I talked to my brother and my best friend, which made me fall in love with this day. Half an hour later I got very pissed at somebody which hadn't happened in a long time (months). When I sat to study I ate fair trade spiced dark chocolate that I had in my bag and my heart started running like crazy. I don't know who I am anymore :emo: Also tonight I'm cooking for 10 friends I'm loving this video: PS: I haven't had time to train much
  20. Belated, but still. Happy Birthday! Hope you had a good one!
  21. Nice! COngratulations to djshrew and Marcina And really to everyone who participated for their hard work, it's really admirable!
  22. Awww that's sweet Thank you! We're always voting for each other lol I'm a fan of your upper body
  23. Yes, Canada gets brutal. Last year I got stuck at Trois Rivieres in Quebec because of the snow. Then when I came to New Brunswick I realized the banks were taller than me.
