What accomplishments has being vegan done for you?

Your diet didn't do that - you did that. -

Progress March -> August
Wobbly Lifter replied to Richard's topic in Before/After Photos & Progress Photos & Videos
Great improvement in posture! Back looking thicker as well. -
Cut slowly. for example reduce your calorie consumption by 250-500 kcal/day. This will cause 0.5-1 pound of fat lose a week. if you keep training well it shouldn't effect your strength or muscle mass. Why are you cutting?

Learning to do Full Squats
Wobbly Lifter replied to tumbleweed's topic in Bodybuilding/Strength Training
About 10-20% difference. My best parallel squat is 116 and best full is 105. Haven't tried to max out on parallel recently. -
Let it grow out for 4 weeks. Sometimes it takes a while. If after 4 weeks you don't have respectable facial hair, it's time to pull out the razor. Shaving does not cause hair to grow faster.

The fact is that this ad has hurt people who have already been hurt. It gives the wrong impression of vegans too, most of us aren't callous misanthropes...

way too fucking far imo. tactically questionable as well. this won't convince people to be vegan but will convince people vegans are misanthropes.

'hardgainer' simply means you don't eat enough. As far as dumbbell goes it'll be hard to have a routine that really encourages growth without some big dumbbells. What weights do they go up to? As far as when to increase the weights it's pretty much whenever you can. Try this as a routine: Day 1 Bench Squat Calf Raises Triceps Kickback Core Day 2 Military or Push Press Deadlift Bent over row Bicep curls Core Work out 2 or 3 times a week switching between 1 and 2. Increase weight whenever you can. Do 3 or 4 sets of 8-10 reps.

10 reasons my gym is better then yours.
Wobbly Lifter replied to Wobbly Lifter's topic in General Discussion
I've known a place or two that don't let you drink hot coffee out of a mug. At my old gym you were only allowed water or sports drink from a sealable container. Me too. -
10. I can drink anything I want, out of any container I want. 9. People say 'hi' when you get there - and 'bye' when you leave. 8. I train there. 7. You don't. 6. People give advice. 5. People take advice. 4. Grunting isn't allowed - it's encouraged. 3. We have a coach. 2. You can drop the weights. 1. Nobody gives a shit if you're not wearing a shirt.

Always nice to get unexpected support. Esp. from a cutie.

This is a good way to get a repetitive strain injury, not a good way to train grip.

Anyone with experience with a 5x5 routine?
Wobbly Lifter replied to VegannNY's topic in Bodybuilding/Strength Training
One more thing about 5x5 - the idea is to add about 5-10 pounds to what you lift each week if you made all 5 reps for all 5 sets. So one week might be 5x5 at 200 pounds for deadlifts. Since you got them all you add 10 pounds and try to do 5x5 at 210 next week. If you make all 5 sets try 220 on the third week. If you don't make them all, try 210 again until you do make them all. Remember progression is key, you should add weight to each lift every week or two. So if it's not enough work just add more weight! -

Rest 90-120 seconds. Breathe deeply and visualize your next set, easy and with perfect form. Helps me at least - although I don't strictly time it. -

added 60kg to my deadlift in 6 months on a 5x5. gained about 10 pounds too. -
I think it's way overpriced. you could get way better food for that cost.
