Do you have a shower filter/purifier?
veggymeggy replied to compassionategirl's topic in General Discussion
Thanks CrispyQ! That's really helpful. How scary, something else I'd never even thought of polluting my body. -
Of course, as i wrote them ... *cough* What would you suggest then? Less fabric? More? Another color? Tell me In two weeks you'll have yours, i promise! (shipping to the US takes that long, unless you want to pay double for express ervice (which means 540$!)) Ouch....I'll try having some patience for once, that's an insane amount of money! And common, what could Alex where that WOULDN'T be sexy? He's totally hot and his body is perfect He should wear a paper sack just to make things fair on the rest of the world

That's a fabulous idea? Do you know how, or know someone who does? I'd love to see it, but I don't know how else I could! -
Big, big, BIG Congratulations Ash! I'm so happy for you!

problem - how do you motivate yourself to workout?
veggymeggy replied to nobbi's topic in Bodybuilding/Strength Training
Oh, I also try to do things like bring my gym clothes with me when I go to school or work so that I don't need any extra prep time....when I'm done with either of the aforementioned I can just head straight to the gym, which keeps me from getting distracted by going home and getting caught up talking or doing other things -
problem - how do you motivate yourself to workout?
veggymeggy replied to nobbi's topic in Bodybuilding/Strength Training
I have this problem often. This time a year ago, I was working out twice a day, 6 days a week without fail. When I am in the swing of things the gym is my top priority, and everything else waits. I felt and looked awesome! (if I do say so myself) That though, was before I came back to school, left my home town behind again, took a job paying half of what I made before.... Now I am exhausted all the time, stressed out about school and money all the time, etc, etc, etc.....and even though I know the one thing that will really make me feel better is going to the gym, most the time I end up just making some sort of carbohydrate laden food and sit around pissed off. It's a horrible cycle because in my mind I know I'm not doing the best thing for myself, but the motivation just disappears....... Anyway, for me I find the the only thing that can help kick it is to just DO it. And I know that's the whole problem, but if I can make myself go when I really really don't want to just ONCE then I feel a little bit more motivated to go the next time. And if I can get there one MORE time, then it's a little bit easier the time after that... I wish I had a fool proof method, but if I did, I'd be at the gym right now and not eating a bowl of pasta and typing on the forum My biggest goal right now is really just overcoming this rut I'm in and get myself back on a gym schedule....I know I will feel so much happier. Good luck Nobbi, I know you can do it! -
Do you have a shower filter/purifier?
veggymeggy replied to compassionategirl's topic in General Discussion
yup. currently i am paying ridiculous amounts of tuition, have no job, but lots of bills piling up. A $30 shower filter is a luxury for me at the moment. I would rather spend the $30 on vegan supplements. But soon, I will hopefully have a decent paying job once I graduate. Amen to that....I just paid tuition, rent, car insurance (for the car I barely use) and a credit card bill this week....And I'm so far in the hole to my parents and other general debt, I can't even stop to think about it or I'll just cry I can't remember the last time I spent more than 10$ all at once...I can't remember the last time I had that much! I've never heard that about the showers, but that is a scary thought....definitely makes me want a filter. I am curious to read more about it. -
Keep me on track guys! My gym/food log
veggymeggy replied to veggymeggy's topic in Online Training Journals & Blogs
My schedule is SO sporatic! I made it to the gym yesterday, but not today Tomorrow I plan to go in the afternoon, and do a cardio workout. I will post and confirm that I went, promise! I've been doing lots of squats lately, trying to strengthen my legs....I think it's helping. -
Crash, you're just saying that, aren't you? Hehe I can do that too Mmmmm, cherries.... Neato burrito Topher!
-
Shows what a good Oregonian I am....I've never even heard of that town. I'm Portland-centric

Voting is almost always about picking the lesser of two evils, there is no doubt about that. BUT - if YOU don't pick the lesser of two evils, then someone else IS. And I know we all agree there are an awful lot of morons in the world - I can't abide letting them have more say in how things are run than I do. Think about that. Rednecks won our presidential election. We could have used a few more enlightened vegans at the polls. Our political system is not one in which silence equates to taking a stand. It is what it is, it's not going anywhere anytime soon, and I for one refuse to give up the one voice I have to the idiots who vote haphazardly for whatever republican or local boy they see on the ballot. -Which is why I vote. And I always take the time to make sure I know for who and what I'm voting. Like veganmadre said - apathy is acceptance.

Wow, I'm also in awe of you! 23 years! That's awesome. I'm very glad you've joined us here; welcome!
-
That's ok Michelle, mine are all "before" too, they're all from this summer and the plan is to work my tail off all winter so next summer I CAN have after photos
-
AHAHAHAHA I wish I could post the video of me suggesting that we go to Astoria....or wait, is it Estonia? Or is Topher stoned? (Side note, Topher was not, nor would he ever be, stoned) If only I didn't sound like a 6 yr old...."yeah!" Seriously. I'm laughing now. I just can't stop! Topher tells the truth, he loves the Goonies.
-
Neat! Nice pics everyone! I guess I could send mine in too...yup, I think I will. Richard, you rock. More pics people! It's nice to put a face to a name
-
Robert is totally pumped about this idea- He still had energy after his graveyard shift to come and talk about it at home too! I think it's awesome, I would love to see so much vegan muscle all at once just go out there and dominate! I'll be there! (Taking pictures )
-
Shoot, I forgot I hadn't posted here yet! Hi Shelby, welcome! I'm Megan, Robert's roommate....he was telling me you've been in touch for a long time, I'm glad you finally joined us all here!!!

I think meat must shut off the flow of oxygen to the brain! I have had people look me in the face and tell me that I couldn't possibly get enough protein. I'm 240 pounds. Clearly I'm getting protein somehow! Wish is why all of us vegans have to stick together and just BRING IT. Seeing is believing, right? Or at least it should be....there are some awfully dumb 'meatheads' out there. I have two little furry loves too, but mine are kitties Queso and Cava, the loves of my life! And the bane of Topher's existance
-
Ouch. I'm not gonna touch that cuz I don't wanna fight either But he may have done it as a subtle attempt to get back at me for going off to him about politics all the time, right Topher?
-
How much does a kilo weigh (in pounds or ounces)? That sounds like a lot! And so as not to hijack - hooray for vegan vacation! Can't wait!
-
AAAAH Topher NO! It makes me cry when people say their vote doesn't count It's the one say in the world that EVERYONE (k, mostly everyone) has. ...but we already went over this. For like, 2 hours. So you know my stand I love a good political debate

Thank you! I've been wondering what to do about Thanksgiving this year. I don't even remember the last time I had turkey, but last year I still ate the stuff made with dairy. This year I'll be cooking for myself and taking it home! I will try some of your raw recipes! Thanks!
