  1. Just make sure you get your calcium from other sources. That's your only worry. Try and get them to read factual unbiased books(The China Study comes to mind) about how animal fats and proteins are basically the downfall of our society's health. If that fails, maybe some footage of dairy cows and how they really "live" will make them a little bit more understanding.
  2. It's the aspartame. It raises the set point. In other words, if you drink regular pop you get fat because of the calories but if you drink diet you get fat because of the raised set point.
  3. Well, looks like i'm changing razor, deodarant and paper towel brands. I was just going to ask several questions about household items. I've already switched over to vegan soap and shaving cream along with detergent and dish soap. Even my mom uses the vegan soaps and detergents.
  4. Diet soda also raises the weight that your body wants to be at naturally. Cant remember what it's called. I just dont drink pop unless i have a crazy sugar craving which is hopefully only a few times a month.
  5. The weights for bench/squat/deadlift respectively.
  6. Ahhh lets see, well i just put in my location, my AOL thingy is in there as well. Ahhh lets see, i plan on starting a vegan/vegetarian club at my school and having a vegan BBQ. Every dorm room hosts an event and there is one other girl in my dorm who's a vegan. With her cuteness and my browbeating, i'm sure we'll get it done. I love music. Anything really, mainly indie stuff of all genres. I play trombone. I love computers. And of course, i love animals and nature and always have since i was a baby. One of my first words was brocolli and one of my favorite books was the Avocado Baby.
  7. Nuts and oats. That'll bulk you real good. Protein shakes with lots of hemp/flax oil and peanut butter. I eat that stuff and i lose weight!!! Of course, i have weight to lose.
  8. I use pea/rice. I honestly dont measure how much protein i take. I usually take about 100g just in my shakes on lifting days, plus beans, rice, noodles or whatever else i cram down. Nuts of course. So many protein sources.
  9. If you have a local health food stores they will usually love to help you out. I asked the woman who owns mine about vegan shampoo and vitamins and she helped me out right away. If not, veganessentials. I get my protein from them, very fast processing.
  10. Hello! I'm Andrew. I went vegan 2 months ago after being ovo-lacto for several months. I've been a member over at VF the whole time, some of you may recognize the name. Majoring in commercial music with an emphasis on recording at Millikin University. Just looking for another place to gather more info, recipes and tips on being a vegan/weightlifter.
