Bigxfists
Hi, my name is Adam and I'm a new user to the board. I have been vegetarian for just over 2 years and I went vegan last April. I'm very excited to start posting here because I'd love to discuss topics like nutrition and fitness with other health-minded vegans. I am 5'7 and 140 pounds. I would really like to tone up and build some muscle but especially on my lower body. I curently take a few supplements and drink 1-2 servings of rice protein a day with water and I stick to whole grains and try to use other protein sources than soy. Any Other advice or tips for a beggining vegan body builder? Thanks!

davrhedric
Do full body compound movements. I suggest a book called Dinosaur Training by Brooks Kubik. Or look up a program called Strong Lifts.
horsedoc
Hi Adam, Glad you're here. I agree with Dave that compound movements such as squats, lunges and push-ups give the most bang for your buck. Also pull-ups and chin-ups. I also agree with avoiding soy and like to eat as naturally and simply as possible. Greens are where I get my protein as they are easy to digest when put in a smoothie and easy to process amino acids for muscle building protein. Need more specifics? Just ask!
