laurak
Hope this is the right place to post this... Seeking a third roommate for a great 1912 Craftsman in the Belmont district. Very close to downtown in a walkable neighborhood near Laurelhurst park and myriad shops, restaurants, bus lines, etc. The house: Nice and spacious (1830 sq feet). You would be upstairs and share that bathroom with one other roommate. There is a separate bedroom and bathroom downstairs that belongs to the third roommate. Your room is big, carpeted, has several windows overlooking rooftops, large closet. It faces west and gets some sun. There is also a guest room on the second floor and an extra closet shared between the two upstairs roommates. Hardwoods throughout all of the house, except bedrooms. Marmoleum in the kitchen. Tile in the bathroom. A good sized kitchen with dishwasher, nice open living and dining rooms, a fireplace with gas insert, gas heat. Finished basement downstairs for TV/movie viewing and washer/dryer. Covered back porch and fenced-in backyard. Many gardening/landscaping opportunities if it interests you. The house is not fancy but has been kept up really well and repairs are made promptly (one of your roommates does many of these and also collects your rent). You and us: We are two women (29) who generally live with other women but the room is open to either a woman or a man at this point. We're pretty low-key and very respectful (one of us is a student and sometimes needs quiet study time). We both work M-F during the day. Would like someone who can contribute in some way to the household but we don't generally eat meals together or act communally otherwise. We'd like someone who can help make the house feel homey and comfortable and who is willing to do chores and keep the place pretty neat and clean. We have one cat and can't take on any more pets, sorry. We are one vegan and one vegetarian. Would prefer a vegetarian or vegan roommate. Reasonably eco-friendly (compost, recycle) but not extreme. We have no landline but do have cable internet and TV, which you can share costs for (about $30 a month) ...or not. Our current roommie is willing to sell a lot of her furniture if you are interested but it isn't necessary at all. Fine print: You would pay rent plus utilities (gas, electric, water, garbage). The utilities can get pretty steep in the cold months ($50-100 each just for gas) but are inexpensive in the moderate months. There's also a $350 security deposit. We'd consider renting to a couple for $700. Available Feb 15. Please write with any questions and tell us more about yourself and what you are looking for. Let us know why you are interested in the room. Pictures at: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/roo/260279528.html
