Recovery Foods/tips

At the moment dates before and after workouts are the only things I can bring to mind... what do people on here do to speed up recovery? I've been working on my basic fitness level while I don't have access to a gym for July by doing Insanity workouts, walking, cycling, acroyoga, yoga, my muscles are really beginning to feel sore and I'd still like to be doing more. I've used Sunwarrior in the UK but don't particularly want to buy a protein powder here as I'm moving from place to place quite a bit and only have a small bag, and I'm only away for 3 months.

 

Any ideas or recommendations?

I make Brendan Brazier's lemon-lime recovery drink

 

2 cups of water

juice of 0.5 lemon

juice of 0.25 lime

4 dates

1tsp hemp oil

1tbsp protein powder

1tsp lemon zest

1tsp dulse

2tbsp agave nectar

 

Whizz it all up in the blender and you're good to go. It's really refreshing post workout too.
