9nines
Sometimes when I do flat bench presses and many times when I do decline bench presses, I get an ammonia-like burning smell in my nose. It is usually a couple of reps into a set. I try to breath well during reps but do not pay as much attention to my breathing when really pushing later in a set. Even when I concentrate on breathing correctly, it still occurs on declines. Anyone else have this problem? I am thinking maybe it is carbon dioxide settling in my nose? Maybe it is the opposite of hyperventilating (would that be hypo-ventilating)? Or maybe just the blood rushing to my head and nostrils (but it happens on flat presses too.) Ideas? Is it a concern?
