tomc
Hi there,I have a brother who is vegetarian and is looking to shift a lot of weight. He probably weighs nearly 20 stone. I am trying to help but am unsure what I should be encouraging him to do (diet and exercise wise). He really enjoys swimming and is very good at it, if this is any help?Could somebody please help me out with this? He is very close to me and I really want to help him out. Thank you so much for taking the time to read.X
Fallen_Horse
You will hear a lot of the same stuff here as anywhere else. Get rid of the 'white' foods, like white flour, white rice, etc. and go to whole grains. Eat less sugar and oil in your diet, and since he's a vegetarian he should try to stick to low-fat dairy. Beans are great, as are minimally processed soy foods, fruits, veggies, and nuts and seeds (in moderation). If he can make these (difficult) changes, and he keeps up with the exercise, the weight should come off over time....
