galapogosian
I'm starting from poor muscle and 15-20 lbs fat and I'm trying to come up with a smoothie that has 1/3 of my daily protein requirement. I need a recipe with nothing but food- no powders. My weight is 210, I've been a vegan since Dec 2011. My diet is not balanced. Thank you.
galapogosian
I broke down and bought some rice protein. I plan to combine it with apples, bananas, peanut butter, almond milk, oats and my vitamins. Possibly some spinach or kale. Any thoughts?
Fallen_Horse
How much protein are you shooting for? The powder will definitely help. Nuts and seeds are good for protein and fats too. You really just have to experiment with things to find what you like!
blougaville
I have blended cooked mung beans, lentils, and even black beans along with some fruit and rice/almond milk. The result is usually an ungodly shade of grey, but I have no problem choking down disgusting blends in order to get some extra calories. I'm curious to hear what other members think of this. I've heard "don't mix your fruits and veggies" argument before, but are there any other issues with making whole food blends for mass gaining?
