Academy Award winning director Curt Johnson (Michael Moore Hates

America, Thoth) comes to Portland to present his new film documenting

the current animal rights movement and the government�s oppression of

it. The FBI has designated animal rights activists as the number one

domestic terrorist threat and several activists interviewed in the

film have since been sentenced to federal prison. This screening is a

benefit with proceeds going to their support funds.

 

Your Mommy Kills Animals was shot all over the country, including

Portland and features interviews with local activists as well as

celebrities like Jorja Fox, Moby, Jennifer Pryor, and controversial

figures like Dr. Jerry Vlasek, Paul Watson, Josh Harper, and Kevin

Kjonnaas. Says Johnson, �I was very lucky to talk to people on both

sides of the issue equally and the film let�s the audience make up

their own mind.�

 

The director will introduce the film and have a question and answer

period after the film.

Just a reminder:

 

Hi everybody. A quick note for you.

 

Please come to our next movie event on December 6th. "Your Mommy Kills Animals" at the Clinton Street Theater. Screenings will be at 7 and 9pm. $6, all ages. A benefit for the SHAC7 support fund. Director Curt Johnson will be on hand to chat or get yelled at by you. Again, this is not a movie we are endorsing, but there are some good things about it, and it will hopefully start some discussion both within our movement and outside of it. Plus it has great coverage of the Let Live SHAC7 Benefit that took place in Portland last January.

 

Also, we now have a small run of Food Fight hoodies, a new tshirt, a very limited amount of expensive vegan chocolate Santas, and an expanded freezer section. And probably a few other things too.

 

Oh yeah, almost forgot, congrats to everybody who helped kick Schumachers out of Portland. See you Wednesday night we hope.
