JW
Do you think I would actually take any chance of wasting my valuable Canadian body fluids???
Guest
I wouldn't think so but you do have to make more space for Molson...aka liquid bread.
JW
I just can't stand that period where you know you're fighting a cold. If I excercise at all, it will most certainly result in a full fledged cold.If I don't excercise, I might get it anyway but to a lesser degree (I'll just feel run down for a couple weeks) Oh how I wish a cure existed for the common cold!!!!! Guest
Does this include lifting??? For me doing hard cardio or really intense lifting didn't do a cold any good but a moderately intense low rep high set lifting session never seemed to hurt me. JW
I've generally been okay with light lifting too. Cardio is the killer!
Guest
Try laying off the cardio and increase reps in the weight room for muscular endurance.

JW
Well, I am just about going out of my mind with the combination of a job I can't stand and a groin pull which won't let me do cardio! So what do I do with my spare time? I read books on investing which remind me about how far away from retitrement I am. Oh what a fun existence I have right now! JW
Indoor soccer season starts next month and I just can't seem to get excited about it for some reason. I guess I was hoping there would be an over 35 division this year but that doesn't seem to be in the cards. We also have a new person running the team who wants to have this HUGE roster. That just means less playing time. Not sure I'm interested. I could look for another team I suppose.....or not play.....or play a different sport this year.......or be a couch potato and gain 50LBS...... Oh decisions decisions...... JW
This is such a fun time of the year!English Premier League Soccer has startedNHL training camp has begunNFL & NCAA Football has begunJust wait until NBA starts!!!!(I've omitted baseball cuz I really don't care about it that much) Well it has taken 2weeks but my son the socialite is back to his ways again. He's off to a party this coming Saturday at a GIRL'S house. (nothing too shocking about that, but we suspect that she is the one he has been talking about this past week) On the weekend we had 3 girls at our door asking him to go bikeriding with them.He also found out that the youth group at our church has a confference in Edmonton, Alberta this fall. He of course is very gung ho about this! Will it ever end???? (in case you haven't noticed.... I'm just jealous)

JW
Doggone it!!!I leave on Saturday for a conference and naturally I am finally succumbing to that virus!!!! It's uncanny how a cold manifests itself at just the wrong time!!Hopefully I won't be coughing up a lung on the plane. I won't let it stop me from table tennis tonight though!Something about that game that I just love.(maybe it's a secret desire to be Forrest Gump)
Guest
I highly suggest you get a good stool to play on. I think you may be a bit too old to play such an intense game.
JW
as long as its got wheels.....
Guest
It needs wheels and some sort of harness to hold you in since you can't stand without considerable aid with those terribly arthritic legs you've got under you.
JW
so despite the absence of a walker and a table tennis table, and with a nasty cold brewing, JW manages to dominate his opponent in badminton last night.(my Grandmother really was no competition) It's awesome having the entire gym available. We played badminton, hoops, soccer and tossed the football around. It felt okay last night but I'm paying for it this morning. The cold seems to have come on strong now.I leave for a conference on Saturday so I really hope I can get over this thing fast.
JW
Well.... I am off to a conference in Houston tomorrow so I won't be around for a few days. I still feel like I was hit by a truck but hopefully a good nights sleep will help me get over this darned cold.

JW
Hello all!!!!!! been a long time.I posted about my absence under the General section. I've been exercising on a regular basis for 3 weeks now and have cleaned up my diet significantly. I've lost 8 lbs in these past 3weeks, my energy has increased and I feel much happier. (amazing what a little excercise will do) What really pushed be into healthy living again was a recent vacation. The sight of all those middle aged and older men with ENORMOUS bellies just kind of grossed me out.I reaaaaalllly don't want to be like that. still playing soccer.Have re-introduced weight-training into my routine.(this is a big thing for me, as I've been pretty scared of weights since hurting my back last year doing a deadlift. hope all is well with everyone here!!!!!
