cubby2112
I have been having trouble pinning down the caloric content and breakdown of most legumes, mainly thing within the pea family. Every package of them says that 1/4 cup has different calories, protein and fiber. I have taken into account whether or not the fiber is subtracted from the calories and that has not helped. There is simply no consistency I can find. Right now, I am going from the official USDA measurement. The caloric breakdown in that even does not add up correctly. I just want to have some idea of how many calories I am consuming with them, because the range for an equal-sized serving ranges from 80-160 calories. Again, taking fiber into account does not make it consistent.
cubby2112
Sorry, that example of calories is from lentils if anyone is wondering.
Daywalker
I don't know the breakdown, but maybe the differences can be explained by the state the food is in, i mean raw/dried/cooked?That and/or different kinds of lentils..?
