Lindsay76
Had a nasty cheat last night - garlic fries that seemed to be double fried - they were truly worth it at the moment and then - within an hour of eating them - I don't know if there was MSG or what .. . I felt like I was hung over - dizzy, puffy - went to bed at 7:45 ... maybe the fried was toxic! Decided to stop glucosamine/chon - will just adjust workout program and take medicinal gold. Clever Name
Fantastic week! I'm curious...it seems like you don't eat much that's very filling (i.e. lots of fresh fruits and veggies, which I know go right through me, seem to form the base of your diet). Do you have any idea how many calories you eat in a given day? Do you get hungry a lot? How did you discover what way of eating worked well for you? Clever Name
AM: cable lunges What are cable lunges? 30 min natural runner What's natural runner? one piece of dolphin dark chocolate Does that count as vegan? You are certainly training hard! Enjoy your day, and thanks for putting up with the questions.
Lindsay76
Hee Hee Clever Name - first time I smiled today.Dolphin Chocolate is VERY vegan and SUGAR FREE! I highly recommend it!Cable lunges are done at a cable station with a rope attachment at the high point. Either face the weight stack or face away from it - enjoy the different challenge of each angle - one way is a front lunge - one way is a backwards. You get resistance through the entire movement - great for the abs too!A natural runner is an elliptical that simulates running - feels like running in sand without the impact. Taking a very unplanned day off for a terrible reason ... my sweet light of my life - my little Bo, was attacked last night by a large dog who got off the leash of his owner. It was horrifying - and doubly so, because he was attacked in July 06 by an off leash German Shepard. He had to have surgery - he is home now with a drain - very scared and in shock.Have been by his side since he got home to us at 6am.My eyes hurt, I have a headache and am generally nauseaus. But, going to prepare a wonderful meal for my family - vegan fajitas with fresh guac, and a summer salad with tomatoes from our garden . . . sometimes eating good food together can be very healing. Clever Name
Dear Lindsay, Please know that I will be keeping you and your sweet Bo in my thoughts and non-denominational prayers. I have four dogs and know how much any illness or injury of theirs affects me. I am glad your family is with you and that you are going to eat a good meal together. Lindsay76
Thank you so much Beth.Bo is actually doing much, much better today. We've got his tail wagging, he ate breakfast and drank some water. I think once the drain is out on Friday he will be fine - it's just going to take some time. Slept in till 6:30am this morning! AM: 20 min circuit - wood chops (20), push up to side plank (six each side), mountain climbers 30 sec (4x total for circuit)35 min interval spin 8am: smoothie and one grapefruit
Clever Name
So glad to hear Bo is doing better. It sounds like he is feeling more like his old self and that you are as well. Circuit training sucks in such a good way! I think I will incorporate it into my next cycle---it's been over a year and a half since I've done it. So hard, but so effective. The sweat would just pour off me and my muscles would feel it at the same time...very intense! And you topped it off w/cardio--good for you! You are a friggin' SOLDIER! Happy Thursday,Beth
Lindsay76
If I don't pour sweat - it's not a workout. Clever Name
Lindsay, Your workouts are so varied! How much of that is by design (i.e. to keep the body guessing), and how much is because of the joint/foot difficulties? I'm always curious to see if I'm progressing in strength, and therefore keep my workout the same for a few weeks, but I wonder if this is cutting off my nose to spite my face--i.e., maybe the lower variety prevents strength/size gains. Your foods sound so delicious! So do you consider milks, powders, & PB to be OK exceptions to the avoidance of processed foods? And finally, how is Bo doing? I've been keeping the two of you in mind when I send out my prayers to whoever listens... Happy Thursday (and feel free to lecture me about the foods!),Beth
