cubby2112
There is finally some news on rice protein over at the True Protein forums. They got some from a company that actually isn't gritty for testing. They said as it stands, the rice protein is going to cost more than their whey and they wanted to advertise it as an inexpensive dairy alternative, so they aren't very happy with that. They believe that if people express enough interest on this thread, that they might be able to talk the company down in price a bit: http://serv01.siteground174.com/~trueprot/showthread.php?p=39264&posted=1#post39264 I mostly want to just incorporate a little bit of it into my Gemma mix, say 75% Gemma 25% rice. I might go 50/50 or so if the price gets low enough. So if you are interested, go ahead and show it.
veggieprincess
Well, lets face it, many of us go to trueprotein.com because they offer quality proteins at a very deep discount. I'll have to take a look at the price and make my decision from there. But thanks for the heads up cubby! I'll definitely buy some if its affordable and doesen't taste like vomit

Thanks for the heads up Cubby, I will also take a look.
Richard
vomit tastes like a spicy / sour version of what you ate earlier. Usually it isn't very good on its own, but with some pasta, it can work out

Tasha
I can't wait until they invent an isolate vegan cooler ! Before going vegan I used a protein whey isolate cooler. I'm still waiting to hear back from Vegan Estensals for the good news. But good to know about the rice protein isolate.

cubby2112
The rice protein is due in this week. It is supposed to be priced somewhere in between Gemma and whey protein concentrate, so I am guessing $6-$6.50 per pound. http://serv01.siteground174.com/~trueprot/showthread.php?t=1163&page=

Tasha
Oh I just meant back in my non vegan days, and when being a super fitness buff.I used to take this isolate cooler. The protein wasn't heavy, which made it easier to digest, and it tasted like a fruit drink. And it was a shake and a drink up before my workout. Easy breezy http://a1468.g.akamai.net/f/1468/580/1d/pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/141501/200.jpg Now that I'm vegan they don't have an isolate cooler that is vegan yet... Vegan Esstentials said to me that they are working on a vegan version of an isolate cooler. Sorry for making my last statement in point form. Zack
What's cooler? I think I know what you mean but not really.
Tasha
It's a protein powder but it's doesn't taste as heavy or it isn't as thick as most. It also didn't leave that clumpy mess. All you needed was a cup shaker, shake the powder in the cup as is, and off you went. I'm guessing they called it a cooler because it tasted like a fruit drink. cubby2112
It is in and at a lower price than I expected, $5.39 per pound. This particular type has fiber, calcium and iron in significant amounts, something I haven't noticed in other rice protein isolates. It is looking pretty good, now I just need to order a little and taste test it. Rice Protein Isolate

Rice Protein Isolate lol...wrong link. http://www.trueprotein.com/Product_Details.aspx?cid=22&pid=6833 It's not isolate either, concentrate so I'm sure it doesn't taste good. cubby2112
Oops, I forgot to click copy. I guess it being concentrate is why there is some fiber and such. I ordered a pound. I will give a full report when it arrives.
vegetus25
cubby2112, Have you had a chance to try the rice protein? If so, what do you think of it? Have you used Nutribiotic Rice Protein? How does this brand compare to it? I have tried some cheaper brands of rice protein and found them kind of "grainy" Veg
