  2. Hello I am a total weightlifting newbie. My goal is to get strong, strong, strong, to lose fat and get lean. I've been vegan for five years and have been working out for about as long: just finished Insanity and currently working through "Ripped in 30". Toying with the idea of starting Crossfit but want to get my diet under control first. I started working out initially to improve my mental health after 25+ years of being a total couch potato, and it changed my life absolutely. I'm 34, weigh 140lbs and am 5'3 and 1/2 (that extra half inch is very important). I'll probably lurk around a bit to get orientated, but if anyone's got any advice for someone just starting out I'd appreciate that.
