kelley
Hi all - I ran a search on the forum using the keyword "omega" and I got some info but not what I was looking for. Can anyone point me to a thread I may have missed, or a good thorough article from any other source that discusses Omega 3/6/9's, which of these I need to be healthy and in what proportions? I'm continuing to leaf through the threads here too. Thanks!
andesuma
(as far as I know) you want to balance your Omega 3 & 6 comsumption, with little Omega 9(found in nuts). The Standard American Diet contains WAY too much Omega 6, whichis what is found in meats, and very little Omega 3's. Hemp, flax, avocado, coconut, are all good sources of balanced omegas. here are some links for you: http://www.newstarget.com/omega-3.html http://www.organicconsumers.org/organic/hemphealth082305.cfm http://www.organicconsumers.org/school/diet060202.cfm http://www.organicconsumers.org/organic/hemp011405.cfm
