pazios2002
From looking around the websites, I seem to have formed the opinion that the young girls are going mostly for the physique and fitness comps, while the older women are going for the hardcore bodybuilding comps. Which is OK with me, cause I feel like I am "in" with all the older women! Johanna is so far the youngest one (except the girl in the beach pose! she is in her late 30's) at soon to be 40 year old! I also give Johanna credit in that she has been doing this since 1995! Where she one first place and probably was hooked for life ! Here she is in 2006.http://i36.tinypic.com/23igd8p.jpg I think that she just won her pro card this past weekend. I got a message from a yahoo group about her and the moderator sent on out. If she did congrats on that. Love those arms.

Gaia
This is the 'Girls coming back' (like we left! you just ignores us girls for awhile ) issue to Flex. I do like the new look of these photos. OK so they are glute shots, but the peek-a-boo pose at the end is sweet. And what IFBB Pro Pauline Nordin says in the caption about says it all for me. (Looks like a basement gym background to me! Love the 45lbs plates just waiting to be used! And the knee bandage! Like she is a warrior that is injured! A no sock girl with her black NIKEs to squat in! Love it!). http://i38.tinypic.com/5f2n2u.jpg New photos I saw on the website. I have to say that she is a Figure girl! See what I mean about some of the Figure girls are so close in comparison to Natties (Natural BBers). http://i36.tinypic.com/k4eahj.jpgWell said again. Try all that you read about, and then keep the things that work for you. Get to know your body and how it works!http://i34.tinypic.com/2weaws2.jpg

DV
You definitely like more muscularity than I do!
Gaia
Yeah, but you have to remember that it is fleeting. You are only that way for the show practically. Some girls try to keep their muscularity/striations/definition for a week or so afterwards for photo shoots, but for most of us, the post-prejudging snack fills us in a little. And then after we get our trophies , we head for a normal dinner! Some of us lose control, and eat chocolate cheesecake and the next day (or 20 minutes later after we have devoured the whole thing!), look like we are 4 months pregnant! There is a whole mental side after a comp also that you will have to experience. The word control doesn't seem to exist after a comp! I need to learn how to control after a comp and during off season. I need learn how NOT to get so high of a bodyfat percentage during the off season. DV
I understand what you're saying. Maybe I shouldn't have used the word muscularity. Regardless of how fleeting her striations are, she appears really thick/big - which I appreciate but it's not my preference. I tend to like those in the light weight and middle weight classes (I assume she's in the heavy weight class). The idea of losing control after a comp is one I need to get out of my head. A few of the guys at my gym have done this and it's not pretty (or healthy, one packed on 30 lbs in a few weeks supposedly). My trainer's philosophy is to maintain at 12-13% bodyfat and drop into the single digits for shows. We'll see if it works for putting on mass in reality (I'm currently at 19% and "bulking" but a very controlled bulk with little fat gain). I'll start cutting this winter but will need to add more muscle before competing (I still think 2010 is more realistic for me but maybe I'll surprise myself next year). Gaia
I like fullness. I guess that could be easily categorized into thickness.
