I focused on technique today, pausing at the bottom. It felt much better and I'm confident about 5 x 85 kg now. I went to the gym today and did dumbbell rows instead..I couldn't find a spare barbell and didn't want to hang around waiting. 11/06 Squat1 x 5 x 75 kg1 x 5 x 85 kg1 x 5 x 95 kg1 x 5 x 105 kg1 x 5 x 120 kg Felt good. Bench1 x 5 x 55 kg1 x 5 x 62.5 kg1 x 5 x 70 kg1 x 5 x 77.5 kg1 x 4 x 85 kg (+2 more reps after a short break) Probably could have got the 5th rep but didn't have a spotter and didn't want to risk it. joelk Posted June 30, 2009 Share Posted June 30, 2009 From what I've been learning at the powerlifting club it is best to try and drop into the squat, not to slow down at the bottom. Almost like bouncing. When I visited my girlfriend in the States in December I had a few weeks off from squatting but eventually found a gym over there. I only did light front squats but the following two days were hell. I just did squats and bench press today because I was getting hungry.. I'll do rows and curls etc tomorrow and then I'm off to Sydney to meet my girlfriend at the airport. She's coming over from the states. We haven't seen each other since January so I'm VERY EXCITED!
