Shoulder issue

So I was talking with a doctor friend of mine and had him do a quick check on my shoulder after discussing what my problem was. I get a lot of snap and crackle noise from my right shoulder. Also doing shoulder press has proven to be fairly uncomfortable as of late. My friend said that most likely the cartiledge or as he said "miniscus" (he's a doctor from india...maybe they are not the same thing. I'm not a doctor) has moved around. He recommends light weights and not sleeping on my right side, also just rest in general. As I'm a gym fiend I can't stay away and running gets boring for me. I gotta lift. I'm figuring what I can still do though to keep low impact on my shoulder. Should I stay away from movements such as benching and lat pulldowns which do engage the shoulder a good deal?

 

What kinds of things would you all be doing?

For years, I had chronic pain in my wrist and elbow that often prevented me from lifting; it is, as you may know, a very common problem which worsens typically as people get older. While experimenting with a diet for another health issue, I inadvertently healed the joint pain. This is after going to 3 orthopedic specialists who did xrays and MRIs and eventually told me they didn't know what was causing it even though they could see the inflammation. There was nothing they could do.

 

There is a theory in natural hygiene that says most degenerative (versus injury) joint pain is caused by acidic diets. Because our culture eats primarily acidic foods like meat or dairy or grain or legumes, our bodies become acidified over time. Our blood has a very narrow permissable Ph range so the acidity must be neutralized for us to remain alive. It's neutralized by leeching calcium (an alkaline mineral) off our bones. The resultant buffer waste , because our bodies are not designed to efficiently remove it, lodges in our soft tissue ( like our joints) causing arthritis and often kidney problems.

 

In Natural Hygiene, the key biostatistic is body Ph; by testing your urine or saliva, you can infer your blood Ph. The way to keep your body Ph balanced, without creating abundant buffer wastes, is to greatly reduce acidic foods by switching to a fruit and non-starchy veggie (like lettuces and cabbages) based diet. Chronicly ill people, regardless of the condition, almost always have an acidic body Ph. When I followed this simple advice, the chronic joint pain I had suffered from for years, and which the medical "experts" could do nothing, began clearing up within several days. The rest of my health skyrocketed as well.

wish I knew what to tell ya. I just noticed this weekend that my shoulder is all swollen (you know where in the front the bones dip in? well on my left side it doesn't dip) I figured I'd take a few days off of upper body (except my dance classes and lugging around my 400 lb. backback!) and put some ice on it and see what happens.

There is no meniscus in the Glenohumeral joint.

There is an articular disc in the sternoclavicular joint, and one also in the acromioclavicular joint but certaintly no meniscus. Gotta say the fact that a doctor would say that to you is quite scary. And med terms like this are universal. Meniscus are large fibrocargalige discs, as in your knee joint, the dics in the forementioned joints of the AC and SC joints are very small compaired to the knee joint.

The snapping is usually nitrogen gas in the synovial fluid or small adhesions between the capsule and ajoining tissues.

If the snapping causes no pain then keep on keeping on, if it causes tolerable pain then work on your rotator cuff muscles by doing resisted medial and lateral rotation.

If the pain is unberable then see a doctor, one that has a clue of anatomy.
