PS - If readers never heard of Crass read below:

Crass were an English punk band, formed in 1977,[1][2] which promoted anarchism as a political ideology, way of living, and as a resistance movement. Crass popularized the seminal anarcho-punk movement of the punk subculture, and advocated direct action, animal rights, and environmentalism. The band both utilised and advocated a "Do It Yourself" approach, producing sound collages, graphics, albums and films. Crass also criticized and attempted to subvert the dominant culture with messages promoting feminism, anti-racism, anti-war, and anti-globalization.

Crass practiced their "direct action" philosophy by spray-painting stencilled graffiti messages around the London Underground system and on advertising billboards, coordinating squats, and organising political action. The band also expressed its ideals by dressing in black, military surplus-style clothing and using a stage backdrop which amalgamated several "icons of authority" and an Ouroboros.

The band were critical of the punk movement itself, as well as wider youth culture in general. Crass promoted the type of anarcho-pacifism that eventually became more common in the punk music scene (see anarcho-punk[3]). They are also considered part of the art punk genre,[4] due to their use of tape collages, graphics, spoken word releases, poetry and improvisation.

Haha don't be offended. It's one of their lyrics.

It's off the first track of "Christ the Album". Steve Ignorant is reading a review of them by a mainstream British reviewer. One of the opening lines is "Same old CRASS you've heard it all before CRASS being crass". And at the end Steve screams the reviewers quote "They're just a joke. A Stupid Fuckkkking Jooooooooke". It's quite cathartic.

What? I've been a Crass fan since I was 15 years old. I'm 40 now and I dont even know about this. I used to have all their albums - even have a Crass tattoo.

What the hell!

Yep, it's there.

I have the Feeding of the 5000 on vinyl too. It's cool.

What I love about "Christ the Album" is the way every track starts off with a couple of sound samples. It really sets a mood for the songs.

Awesome @ CRASS tattoo! Is it the band symbol?

I've been listening to a lot of anarcho lately. Kulturkampf, Flowers In The Dustbin, Anthrax (UK). There's a new band called Cross Stitched Eyes that's made up of ex member of Subhumans and Zygote who have a pretty awesome, dark Rudimentary Peni sort of vibe going.

I've been listening to alot CRASS and [HUM][ANS] lately. What I've noticed is that most rap, r and b, and rock is about relationships and dating. I'm surrounded by that stuff all the time so I enjoy hearing about other topics in the music I listen to.

It's always refreshing to see some real punkrock kickin' out there in this post-modern, corporate, hipster-infested world!

Subhumans, Citizen Fish, Intro5pect, Inner Terrestrials, Public Serpents, et cetera ad nauseam.

Punks are dead only if you're looking for them on MTV.

If you're into Subhumans, that band I linked in my last post, Cross Stitched Eyes is members of Subhumans, UK Subs and Zygote
