I think we should start a support group here!

I guess I was probably the same growing up. Makes me appreciate my parents more now

whoooaaaaa!!! stepped on the scale for the first time in about 3 months

232LBS

Last I checked I was between 223 and 225

Definitely some increase in muscle mass but I wasn't expecting weight gain.

This is uncharted territory for me as I have never made a comittment to putting on upper body muscle mass before.

When I ran long distance I weighed in at around 190-195 LBS

This kind of freaks me out because I don't know what weight will be optimum for me. I still want to but a bit of mass on my chest and arms so what will that mean...? 240LBS 250LBS ??

btw I am 6' 3.5" tall

started tracking my diet again and

caloric intake is fine but I continue to struggle to get enough protein in my diet.

I obviously will have to supplement and make it a daily habit.

My shoulders are sore from yesterday.

But it's a good sore!

Bought some more protein powder at lunch. I've just gotta get that protein consumption up.

tomorrow is workout day again

Darn!! working in the foodservices business is tough!

today we had a potential supplier in cooking up vegan samosas.

What is a guy to do????? I'm only human!!!!

one of my problems is that I'm trying to eat less soy. So I've been eating more pea protein and hemp protein.

I think I'll be able to do it, just need to change eating habits

I agree on vega. It's an awesome product!!

A little sore today from yesterdays workout.

For some reason the day after a workout, I am just RAVENOUS!!!

I can't get enough food in me!

was at a meeting last night re: my son's school trip to Quebec.

This should be interesting! I wonder how many things he will lose and how much money he'll spend

5 night trip (the first time he'll have been away from us more than 1 night)

Have you tried the grain tempeh? It still has some soy in it though. Lentils also have a lot of protein. And of course beans. I guess I would have to know more about what you eat so I know what to suggest. You can use Quinoa as your base instead of rice for a lot of dishes. that will up the protein content. If you bake you can bake quinoa into your bread/muffins etc. Also you can make your own protein bars for snacks using VEGA.

140g protein yesterday

thanks to a protein shake last night....

I eat a fair bit of fruits and veggies.

LOVE salads, pastas, grainy breads

I eat some meat substitutes but I'm not overly fond of them.

So I'm thinking that I'll have to really focus hard on supplementing

I am still feeling a bit sore and stiff. I hope my strength is okay at todays workout!

hhhhmmmm maybe you can top your salad off with some beans like garbazos or black beans if you not already doing that. I don't eat much pasta but when I do I use the Ezekiel brand. that has a good amount of protein in it. Although you had to watch when you cook it because it cooks really fast. Have you tried Hemp bread? That also has a lot of protein in it for bread. It does taste grainy so I think you will like it. There is also Ezekiel brand bread and wraps.

hmmm that's a good call re: the hemp bread.

I have to do something to change.

Over the weekend, when I live a "regular" lifestyle (no always conscious of the protein intake)

I dropped off to about 100g

took it fairly easy over the weekend.... nice long walk for about 90 minutes on Saturday and then about an hour and a half of yard work yesterday.

Back to the gym today!!

Someone commented on how I'm looking muscular!!!

thanks! I needed some positive re-inforcement!!

well...one of those days... felt like crap but suffered through a workout anyway

10 minutes on bike

3x8 deadlifts

3x8 incline bench

3x8 lats

3x8 shoulder press

3x8 rows

3x12 squats

200 crunches

50 pushups

1x12 hammer curls

now I feel even crappier!! Seems like everybody is sick lately. Lots of strep throat and flu going around. I think I've just got a urinary tract thing going on which is giving me a bit of fever too. I'll survive!!

saw Wolverine yesterday!!! good action flic! Not a cinematic classic but quite entertaining!!!
