  1. Do you eat "clean"? How do you define clean foods? I've found that on the majority of bodybuilding/figure competition forums, there is a huge emphasis on clean eating and the impact of it on achieving results. Personally, I try to get most of my calories from unprocessed foods, like oatmeal, tofu, tempeh, natural pb, sprouted grain breads, vegetable oils, veggies, some fruit and protein powder supplements. Of course, it's not always easy to do in the real world, but I almost always avoid protein bars, very processed soy (i.e. soyburgers), sugar and refined wheat products.
  2. I adore oatmeal mixed with a banana, cinnamon and pb. I eat it every morning and it's my favorite meal of the day. I also love mangoes. And pineapple and asian pears. I'm not a huge junkfood person, but once in awhile flax/soy tortilla chips with refried beans is wonderful.

  4. Hi everyone! I'm Julie, I'm from Delaware and will be moving to Michigan by the end of the Summer. I've been vegan for over 4 years, and vegetarian since I was 7 (I'm 20 now). I've been a long distance runner for 6 or 7 years now and so far I've completed 4 half marathons and 1 marathon, as well as a ton of shorter races. Recently, however, I've gotten really into lifting and I'm aiming to lose some body fat and gain some muscle. In the future I'd like to do a figure competition, although I don't think I'm anywhere near that level at this point. I entered the Summer "Body Transformation / Shape Up Fitness Contest" and I think it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. Nice to meet everyone!
