EdensDemise
i was checking strength workout programs and i discovered this website http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beginner-strength-training-program/i am pretty sure most of the people here know about this program. do you have opinions? did somebody try this? what do you think about the fact that there is no exercise for biceps and abs? HIT Rob
Hi Eden, Its abbreviated intense training, with an eye on progressive overload, this is a good message... However, this program is really just a re-marked-ed version of Bill Starr's 5X5 program, its essentially a program based on two arbitrary numbers that match, and were those free weight movements advocated may work well for some, they are most certainly not a one size fits all ( the same goes for that rep range). Just my opinion:)Rob
vegan_rossco
I did it for ages mate, great fun and simple to follow, I made some major strength gains too! Only thing I don't particularly like about it is the squatting for 3 days a week! I used to cut it down to 3x5 on squats
EdensDemise
thanx both for the answersbtw yeah i was surprised too about the squat in all the work outs of the week and deadlift only in B days, in this direction adding 2.5 for every workout, squat will be always few kg forward than deadlift.but i will give it a try in a few weeks maybe since i twisted my ankle this evening
Justin Morgan
Edensdemise, you know that the deAdlift is supposed to increase in 10 pound increments on that program though, right? So the squats won't get ahead because they are only increasing by 5 pounds and will stall before deads.
