I got forwarded this email about proposed legislation that could help many livestock animals in California. California residents can make this happen by voting "yes" on proposition #2 and reading this site for more information: http://www.humanecalifornia.org/ Residents of other states can consider making a contribution to efforts to make sure that this legislation passes: https://secure.hsus.org/01/chf_2020?qp_source=chf005 I did not read all of the details in the forwarded email, so before you spend money or vote please check out the details for yourself.

A friend asked me to sponsor him for his United Way stair climb in return for sponsoring me for my Farm Sanctuary walk. I was wondering, are they a safe charity for a vegan to support? From what I know their main activity has to do with poverty and such. Are they involved in animal research or any crap like that? I couldn't find much online about that.

In The Mind Of Bigot-- Flight From Ambivalence http://www.booksie.com/non-fiction/article/bwinwnbwi/in-the-mind-of-bigot-flight-from-ambivalence The Defining Condition Of Ambivalence/Self Becomes Identified With A “Neither This Nor That” Circumstance Prospectus Continued If the genesis of ambivalence can be located in the differentiating space [to paraphrase Thom’s (1983, p.187) description of Simmel’s concept of a person], arising between what is simultaneously social and individual, social, in the form of the product of sociological categories, and individual, as the stranger existing outside of sociological categories, then the defining condition of ambivalen…

Hi everyone, I'm in need of some guidance regarding a plumbing issue I've been experiencing at home. Recently, I've been noticing a foul odor emanating from my HVAC ducts, and upon investigation, I've discovered some concerning plumbing work in the closet adjacent to my bathroom. It appears that the condensate drain line lacks a proper trap and is improperly connected to the PVC drain line. I'm considering hiring a plumbing company to rectify these issues, but I'm unsure where to start. Could anyone recommend a reliable plumbing company or have experience with this Maui Plumbing Company? Your insights would be greatly appreciated.

There will be sign-up lists at every event (for the whole itinerary) and you can also e-mail robert@vegan…

Somebody told me, "I love you" today! It was my 4th and 5th grade teacher. She was always my favorite teacher growing up. She was just the most incredibly nice person who helped shape my life and my character today. She was in her late 50's when she taught my class and at the end of each day or maybe it was just on Friday after school, she would hug each student as we walked out the door. I never got hugs at home so it was kind of a first for me. That is where I learned how to hug. I've been out of 5th grade for 17 years and I've only seen my former teacher a few times over the past nearly 2 decades. She's in her 70's now and looks great! I saw her today when …

As a nice gift to all of you (and to me), I am arranging back to back to back and possibly to back, Vega Sales so for the next 3 months or so, you'll be able to find Vega on SALE somewhere be it: www.bodybuilding.com www.veganessentials.com www.foodfightgrocery.com www.veganproteins.com etc. If I can keep up a promo/sale calendar year round with all the stores I work with, I could quite literally make it so you don't have to pay full price for VEGA at anytime during the year. Of course you may have your favorite vegan or online store you'll want to support whether it is on sale or not, which I am in full support of, but I'm going to do what I can to bring th…

David Martosko, speaking in Modesto at the annual meeting of Western United Dairymen, said the society is attacking milk producers as part of its effort to turn Americans into vegans. "They are not promoting kinder treatment of farm animals," said Martosko, director of research for the Center for Consumer Freedom in Washington, D.C.…

It may sound silly, but the most influential bodybuilding advice I personally received in 2010 came about this way: I was working for Bodybuiding.com at the Arnold Classic and at that point had taken nearly a year off from lifting. Knowing I was smaller than usual, I was making some jokes about it. It was funny for a while, a bunch of us laughed and then one of my favorite pro bodybuilders I work with at Bodybuilding.com said to me, "Remember what your hat says and who you represent." A Bodybuilding.com knit cap is what I was wearing and though he laughed with me at first....it was a wake up call for me to respect bodybuilding and represent myself appropriately. A cou…

Forwarding info sent to me: tn5n?source=gabaxw%> The chance to save America's horses is in the homestretch! The U.S. Senate will be back in session for only a few days, and we must ensure that it will take action on the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act before adjourning for the year. Our next, and likely final, National Call-In Day for Horses is this Tuesday, Dec. 5. We must flood Senate offices with phone calls during this short window, urging them to cosponsor S. 1915 and get it to the senate floor for a vote. Mark your calendars now. Here's what you can do to help: 1. Tell your friends and family 55bi41t5tn5n?source=gabaxw> . With the help of c…

I'm forming a band in Prescott, Arizona, and we are in need of a bassist and drummer. It seems all of the good ones in the area are taken or only play music with "cookie monster" vocals. So, this is a shot in the dark, but if anyone reading this is a drummer or bassist and is moving to the Prescott, Arizona area, let me know . By the way, this is a really cool section! In addition to the business/networking opportunities it provides, I find it interesting to see what other people on the forum are into. Mike

EPA Pesticide Exposure Test Too Short, Overlooks Long Term Effects, According To Expert http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/08/090817143610.htm ScienceDaily (Aug. 27, 2009) — The four-day testing period the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) commonly uses to determine safe levels of pesticide exposure for humans and animals could fail to account for the toxins' long-term effects, University of Pittsburgh researchers report in the September edition of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. The team found that the highly toxic pesticide endosulfan—a neurotoxin banned in several nations but still used extensively in U.S. agriculture—can exhibit a "lag effe…

This has been reported repeatedly to the SPCA, Animaquebec, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of the Environment, the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Provincial Police, newspapers, the media, etc. This puppy mill is a 3 million dollar business for the scum who are perpetrating the most heinous cruelties to the 400 breeding dogs in this CANINE HELL. We have pictures, we have tapes, we have an informer who worked there and told all. We have a vet who is ready to testify in a court of law about what he saw, and still no reaction from the above mentioned. The dogs receive no vet care at all. They live from birth to death in a dark, dingy, damp, and cold infect huge decr…
