Im Your Man
Montreal Fantasia Film Festival 3-21 July 2008 To see all the previews: http://entertainment.sympatico.msn.ca/ For those who love genre cinema like horror, sci-fi, animation, Asian cinema, martial arts movies, etc. check this out. New movies from Johnny To, Yoshihiro Nishimura, Oxide Pang, Takashi Miike, Dario Argento, etc. Some of them come to present their new film. I wish I was in Montreal just for this. I watched about 20 movies during the 2006 edition, then about 12 last year, but I'm out of the city for this summer. Some film buffs go see all the movies, there's about 100, including many World Premieres. Here's 2 previews I like from Fantasia 2007The 4th Life http://youtube.com/watch?v=9tL0Fs3w4PEThe Celluloid Experiments
cubby2112
That sounds like an awesome festival. Too bad I am nowhere near Montreal.
Dr. Pink
I wonder if they will have ringu or that one with the gang of 5 year old Japanese schoolgirls who roam around Japan with Samuri Swords killing everyone.
pelicanAndrew
Sounds like they would have Ringu. Probably the best of the j-horror genre imho. I really wanna check out The Audition though. Sometimes creepy pale japanese kid ghosts get a little old fast. Especially when they're in half the Japanese horror films out there. And then they're all remade into mediocre american horror films. I've been disappointed with EVERY translation of Japanese horror into an American version that I've sworn them off for good. Audition is pretty creepy and definitely worth a watch. Not something I'd bother to re-view more than once in a great while, but something that you definitely need to see at least once!
Im Your Man
Miike's Audition? I liked it, the colors are so beautiful. I haven't had time to check the previews of the films presented this year but when I'll see good ones I'll post the links here.
