I have a bunch of sauces vegan bbq, thai penut...How about tofu once opened how long will last? how about penut butter and jelly organic ones? Anyone know? how to understand beside testing yourself? xjohanx Posted September 15, 2008 Share Posted September 15, 2008 pretty easy to just smell em or take a spoon, if it tastes rancid just spit it out. generally stuff with lot's of sugar (like jelly and a lot of sauces) is preserved for quite a while. tofu will remain fresh longer if you switch the water often but still not very long. i've never not finished a pb jar in under a week so i have no clue how anyone can even ask the question... Put the block of tofu in water in a closed lid recipient, some salt helps to make in last longer too. Change the water everyday ideally.
