veganbuilder
Some people say one hand must be supinated and the other pronated while holding the lifting the barbell, while others say both of them should be supinated. Which is true? And also, is there some video which clearly teaches how to do deadlifts, bench press, military press etc.?
Guest
hands going opposite directions just make it easier to hold the bar...if you hands can handle it I don't think it matters how you hold the bar...its just that supinated your hands may let you focus more on your legs and not holding on the bar
Kathryn
The mixed grip (one hand pronated, one supinated) is to reduce the risk of the bar slipping out of your hands. I've never seen a supinated (palms up) grip recommended, but rather a pronated (palms down) grip.
bronco
I've never seen a supinated (palms up) grip recommended, but rather a pronated (palms down) grip.I also never saw any reccomendations for using a supinated grip. Anyway, I would go with an overhand grip as far as possible since it's good griptraining. When your grip cant handle the weight change to a mixed grip.
